I'm expecting shapeshifter will get this sorted quickly. However, in the meantime:

1) Setup a Command Execution alarm.
2) in the 2nd line (below name) add

/bin/ash /home/opt/alarmed/tweakrprofileswitcher profilename

replace profilename with the name of the profile you'd like to switch to.

I have a question: does Alarmed have built-in any sort of functionality to read calendar data? I see no mention of it.
What I am looking for is the ability to check the calendar and switch profile depending on what is found. For instance, any calendar event synchronised from Outlook with the word "Meeting" would make the phone at that time switch to a silent profile, then switch back once it is over. You know, the way Handy Profiles, Best Profiles, et.c. work for S60 devices :)
I really miss that.

Mjamjam, that's a real wannahave! :p

Today I was one keypress away form installing alarmed but then saw that it would eat about 12MB (7MB the app itself - does it really need to be that big???). So I wanted first to be sure: is it optified?

edit: Hey, could you please post the relevant event from /var/cache/alarmd/alarm_queue.ini once more? This is really mind-boggling. It works perfectly over here and I removed everything related to it, reinstalled the repo version, and everything is fine. Also, I'm still wondering why you can omit the -c and it still works.

That would be a nifty feature. I can look into.

The app itself is certainly not 7MB ;)
Unpacked, its about 115kb including icons and stuff. All the bloat comes from libboost and libqt. The ugly libboost dependency will go away once the PySide people release "Shiboken".

edit: Oh and yeah, it's optified and if I'm not mistaken it's dependencies are as well. Someone installed it a minute ago and told me he didn't lose a bit on /.

It's far smaller than that when installed and is optified anyway. The dependencies are mostly python modules, so they'll be optified as well (if you've got pymaemo-optify installed).

Yes, it's optified through the teeth, I checked after install since it was listed as 29M or somesuch.

Anyway, I noticed that on my phone I have the standard profiles Silent and General (don't need more), but profile switcher only lists Silent. How do I set it to reverse? Shouldn't General be listed?

I'm looking forward to this so I can remove System Events (duplicate function).

About the sizes: I still am a bit confused about the sizes shown in appmanager. I just can't tell where the dependencies are included and where not.

I can't tell for sure but this far I've noticed that HAM tells you:

* Nothing about root usage
* Size = app and direct dependencies of the app
* On the Details page: all the dependencies pulled by other dependencies

E.g. A py script is listed as 7M (1K for the script and 7M for python2.whatever) and details say 30M because Python 2.whatever pulls other libs that bridge the implementation gap.

I could be completely off here - the numbers just added up for me. It would be nice to have rootfs info, but theoretically speaking an app should have no root usage once it makes it past alpha stage so tough luck on that.

Oh, I think I know what the problem is. You _do_ have tweakr installed but you don't use any profiles with it? As in, you still use the normal profiles? I didn't consider that case ;) Will fix in next release!

Unfortunately, autobuilder and the repos seem to be down again...
