what about using facebook in N900? I do it and most of the things I do it as it is, no zooming at all without any problem. However, I used to have problem to open the chat box at the bottom but figured out a way to easily do it without zooming, just rest the thumb at the lower edge of the screen(on the bezel) and press the thing with nail easy. Ya I do s'times miss clicks on "Notifications" but thats the price I have to pay for being lazy to zoom which I hate to do anyway other than while reading tiny long texts like here in this forum.
However, I've nothng against X10 instead its UI amazed me when I first saw its demo and would very much love to buy it if I could afford to have second phone..;)

dreadnought thanks for the review, could the problem with the response on the touchscreen be hardware related. Remember the x10 won't support multitouch because of hardware limitations.

it's possible I suppose, but I'm not trying to use multi-touch on it. I am just using one finger to press one button and it still doesn't respond.

I think one of the difficulties is moving from a resistive to a capacitive screen and having to adjust the angle of the finger to get a response. On the N900 you can pretty much use any part of the finger/nail and get a response, but on a capacitive you really do need to use the flat of the finger for best results. That certainly helps on the X10 but still doesn't make it perfect...

but who wouldnt agree that a physical desk top or laptop keyboard is waaaaaay faster than a virtual one? with that being said you haev to type one char at a time with those so how is it faster? i think i would prefer to simply double tap or use any of the 3 imput methods on the n900 to zoom then pinching and all that foolishness. my dad has a new lappy and the touch pad offers zooming in and out with this same multi touch pinching crayziness. the touch pad on the lappy is a lil over 2/3 the size of a smartphone screen. and its a pain in the butt to do it that way

Ok i just homed x10 and found the youtube player sooo amazing I couldn't stop myself report here wondering why not n900?. I know its browser doesn't support flash but the videos opened via the app is just amazing, I found it better experience and clearer than my laptop while the same video comes as pixelated not clear in N900, is there any option to choose to play only HQ videos? and ya scrolling the main menu is kinda awkward but slide opening the main menu from bottom edge is smooth.. one thing I just couldn't figure out to choose the text written from the virtual keyboard other than hitting enter which immediately tried to, in my case, log in to this site just while trying to enter my username, I will check the photo and video as well tomorrow..

quick night time photo tests under exactly same condition with flash off and default settings and another disappointment from my beloved N900 and I'm aware of 3MP diff but still :(.. Sorry about how I've put it coz was too lazy to put both in flickr and link here :)
Couple things exttacted from details:

ISO 1000, focal length: 4.7mm, exposure bias: 0.00ev, exposure time: 0.067 sec, jpeg quality 99.1

N900
Iso 800, focal length 5.2, exposure time 0.066 sec , jpeg quality 85.5.

it's a shame that you really didnt need to label which one was which as we all are aware of exactly what the dreaded n900 photos look like. smh. so sad. needs to be fixed. hwo is the x 10 crushing nokia in this area? this is nokia playgroung!
