I didn't realized that the API key was case sensitive either. I made some changes so that we automatically convert the supplied API key to upper-case. This way you can enter the key however you like, and it should still work.

This change and a minor addition to the Diablo UI is in version 0.4-7.

I'm a noob with the N900, so please forgive the potentially stupid question:

Is there any way to import the API from eveonline.com into mevemon?

Copy info from inet page into notes (leafpad, etc) and than copy into application. Have several accounts, so i gathered API's first than entered info (c/c) one by one :)

ctrl-c with the hardware keyboard seems to work anywhere. That's what I do.

EDIT: Also, if you are copying off the browser, swiping in from the left side brings up a cursor icon you can click to allow you to highlight text. eg: http://maemo.nokia.com/features/maemo-browser/gestures/

Ummm... Are you saying that now all inputted API keys are converted to upper case? As you said the keys are case sensitive and they also have lower case letters, that might be the reason why even my exactly copy-pasted key isn't working... Where is the config file saved, I'd like to look and see if the key is indeed saved completely in upper-case.

Hm, I've only come across api keys that that were all uppercase, so I assumed they all were like that. Sorry.

If the api key you copied off the eve site has a mixture of lower case and uppercase letters, then you can modify /usr/share/mevemon/ui/fremantle/gui.py and replace the line:

api_key = apiEntry.get_text().upper()

to:

api_key = apiEntry.get_text()


Or you can wait a little bit for me to upload a new package.

Well I haven't regenated my API key in ages (>2 yers?) so maybe they only generate uppercase ones these days?

Anyone else still using this app? I haven't been able to pull character info with mEveMon ever since the Tyrannis 1.2 update earlier this week. Getting "Error -5 while decompressing data". I just filed a bug report on the garage page, but wanted to see if anyone else is having the same problem.
