Re: N900 graveyard
I don't see a big issue with making an impulse buy. It's a way to stumble into a new path. The problem happens when you try to blame others for your choice.

I know how the OP feels. I have had my N900 for a couple of weeks now (bought it from a guy who I suspect was so disappointed with the phone that he was willing to sell it to me at a 150 discount). I am getting more used to its quirks and disabilities, but I go back and forth from loving it to really being pissed at the kins of things I can't do in it (portrait mode, MMS). The volume rocker doesn't even work unless you unlock the phone for Christ's sake. Thats disappointing. |
Re: N900 graveyard
well written post. I am on the fence and as such don't want roses stuffed up my arse, so when and if I do pull the trigger, I can say I read threads like this and they helped me make an informed choice. if after that I write a disappointment thread flame me and say "oh why are you wasting out time" etc.
funny people who think you should not have taken to time to post, spend their time responding asking why you posted ... |
Re: N900 graveyard
Do you guys REALLY believe that people go out and buy an unknown device like an N900 (compared to much more widely known devices like the iPhone or Droid) and spend 500+ dollars just as an "impulse" buy?
I researched the N900 a lot before I made the decision to spend the money I did. I am still disappointed with it in many ways. You can't really know what a device is like until you actually own it and use it on a day to day basis. Hell, I researched my job before I took it, but now that I do it everyday, I'm kinda disappointed with that too. Saying that a device you bought didn't live up to your expectations is a legitimate point to make. |

Re: N900 graveyard
Okay guys, I gave everyone a big "Thanks!" who actually cared to answer the OP and telling him the harsh truth.
I thought that'll do it, but after wasting all my time to read through this useless thread, I couldn't resist answering him myself! So, here it goes... Quote:

And I can sum you up with one word, too... troll. Quote:

No fart apps, though. I believe that's your point, but I don't really care. Quote:

Show me a phone were ANY external buttons work while locked and I'll show you a busted design. Every phone I've owned has locked the volume slider while locked. That includes Motorolas, Erricsons, and Nokias. So much for your research... |

Maybe it would be great if that feature could be configured in the phone options. I prefer having locked volume buttons on the N900 because my pocket for it is a bit tight :D |

What is the goal of doing such? This subsection if for n900 users or people with an interest in the device. Registering an account just to flame the device IS trolling, intentional or not. You won't see me going to the Hummer enthusiast forum right after I sell my my Hummer to whine about the gas mileage. That's just stupid. Same goes for people who come on here to tell us how much better their HTC desire is. That is what the "Competitors" subsection is for |

If he paid £500 he deserves to have his say, even if you may not agree with it.
