Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
Anyone experiencing battery drain using this Widget?
I opened Conky while this Widget was active and it raises my cpu to 91% when using the Twitter widget. |
Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
Quite intersting. Appears that the CPU usage problem only appears after you've tweeted with the widget. If I just add the widget (after killing it from x-term) and leave it, it uses no cpu. If I then tweet something from the widget, it will get stuck and use as much cpu it can get it's hands on.
EDIT It's not.. |
Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
Nice widget. Ashame it has some bugs, main 1 being the cpu usage. Ive just disabled it, will enable it once there is an update to fix the current issues.
One would expect this kind of thing from the test repositories but from the ovi store itself it should be spot on an especially not with problems such as cpu usage and losing connectivity at random points! |
Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
The widget is utterly useless. Nice idea but horrible implementation. The thing is scrolling endlessly through tweets from months ago, whose bright idea was it to be done this way? And when you tap on the damn thing it opens up mobile twitter site. Silly.

Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
I had the CPU bug too. Rebooted some times, deleted it from desktop and added it again, now it seams to be gone. Or maybe it's only when on battery... no still fine.
Would have loved some interaction too like kinetic scrolling. Reply, retweet and settings to set it up to show only specific tweets are missing also. |
Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
Never worked for me even after uninstall/reinstall. I put in my credentials and wait for several minutes before it fails and prompts to re-enter again. Witter works just fine so I don't know what gives.

Hm, I've seen better to be honest...

Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
My phone died in 2 hours after installing this, 100% CPU usage just drained it.
Steer clear |
Re: Twitter Widget in Ovistore
Twitter Widget problems (high CPU load/battery drain after tweeting) have been reported to Q&A assurance and are being investigated. Will be pulled if reproduced in PR1.2 commercial software.
