Re: [Announce] ApMeFo (beta 0.9-3) - Create custom folders in your Application Menu
Hi there! First of all, thanks to everyone for posting!
Cought a cold, so I can't reply in detail right now, but I'll come back to you once I'm a bit better (hopefully in less than a day). Just didn't want you to think I'm neglecting your replies as I'm really thankful for getting them: Lots of good ideas and helpful hints! :) |

Inside the folder you created can be moved from site applications?

Re: [Announce] ApMeFo (beta 0.9-3) - Create custom folders in your Application Menu
Hmm.. seems like I'm not able to create folders with scandinavian letter in their name. Edit/Create button just doesn't do anything, no messages, nothing. With "standard" letters everything is working fine.

Re: [Announce] ApMeFo (beta 0.9-3) - Create custom folders in your Application Menu
I tried to install ApMeFo and as i had mymenu installed i uninstalled it.
After that i can only have access to the main 14 apps in the menu. I can't access any other of my installed apps and even in the desktop several shorcuts as appmanager just don't work. After some search i followed the instructions in http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=108 deleted /home/user/.config/menus/hildon.menu and after a reboot the problem remains. Searching in the forum i understood that this is a known problem but i found no solution but reflashing and loosing all my tweaks. The only way i have to access my apps again is to reinstall mymenu. Looking at /etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu i suspect that this file is not the original pr1.2 as the date is 04-02-2010. If that's the case it could be the reason for this problem. So i ask if someone can post an original pr1.2 version of /etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu Thanks EDIT: Problem Solved. :D Thanks to pantera1989 that sent me this link: http://www.mediafire.com/?mj2zrg2mgza i could restore the original pr1.2 version of /etc/xdg/menus/hildon.menu |

In future you shouldn't be required to use gainroot anymore, just root should be enough. After that you can use Application Manager again to install nano, if you can find it from there. If not then try this: Code:
apt-get install nano Code:
nano /home/user/.local/share/applications/hildon/***.directory Code:
ls /home/user/.local/share/applications/hildon/ Naturally, since ApMeFo does not support Scandinavian letters, it does not show up on ApMeFo but does show up in Application Menu. More information can be found from this post : Post #107 on "Making folders and managing icons" |
Re: [Announce] ApMeFo (beta 0.9-3) - Create custom folders in your Application Menu

Re: [Announce] ApMeFo (beta 0.9-3) - Create custom folders in your Application Menu
Just seconding a feature request posted before; can you make it so it reads the customizations you've already done to the main menu without sorting everything alphabetically once you activate it with a single folder? Ideally I'd like to keep the PR1.1 behavior, neat default order for the main menu, and your new folders would go after the settings icon.
I could do it using this app plus changing stuff manually on the hildon.menu file, but that would be missing the point right? :P |
