Re: n900 to buy or not to buy
You are late to the "party". This is an early adopter device. I would wait for the next best thing from Nokia (Meego) or another party Motorola/HTC (Android). If you asked me 8 months ago I would say yes.

The n900 is great now, and will still be great for a long time. Longer than the n8x0 devices I expect. You might even find a deal on a used one.

Re: n900 to buy or not to buy
I bought one a few days ago, and it was brand new (read: not cheap!) The main reason: I love Linux, I use it on all my systems and wanted to do so on my phone. (I had an Android phone which had a good underlying framework, but the Apps built on it are too closed / useless for my requirements.) I've got as many Apps as I need, and they're all good quality, free and Free.
I also have a full Debian desktop running on the handset, that's something really amazing! I don't care that Maemo has died out, MeeGo may be the way forward, and a community build is sure to be available... All I'm saying is, I know I'm late to the party, but with this device, I feel it's better late than never. Best thing I've purchased for a LONG time. |

Probably doable with the 0xFFFF flash tool as the source is available and it can be compiled for ARM. Take care. |
