Re: Capacitive screen for N900?

just a random thought here - is it possible for manufacturers to make a kind of multi touch resistive by splitting the screen in two? eg it would recognise the left and right side of the screen seperately, effectively allowing two touch inputs? for 90% of multitouch use cases i know this would work if possible.

Does Maemo support multitouch, dont think so...

Well, This kinda arrangement might be usefull with Meego, Cuz I think it is designed with Capacitive fingers in mind

onetype Multitouch resistive screen uses the same technology...
But Thats by using numerous dual nano lines nawrrowly placed, so when one finger presses it, For the other touch the system ignores the one we touched and recoganises the beside one..

Well, as it is located very near.. it would seems like mutlitouch
am i clear?:o

Does VNC allows for multitouch input to be transmitted from one machine to another?

I think it wouldn't work - Linux doesn't aupport multi-touch, or even touch for that matter!
The n900 uses your standard desktop mouse cursor, and the touch screen driver converts it from touch input to cursor/click.

All the multi-touch stuff has special drivers as well as special hardware.

Holy crap that is awesome. Is there anything out there that use this? Nokia should definitely use this technology on the Meego flagship.
