just a random thought here - is it possible for manufacturers to make a kind of multi touch resistive by splitting the screen in two? eg it would recognise the left and right side of the screen seperately, effectively allowing two touch inputs? for 90% of multitouch use cases i know this would work if possible.

Does VNC allows for multitouch input to be transmitted from one machine to another?

I think it wouldn't work - Linux doesn't aupport multi-touch, or even touch for that matter!
The n900 uses your standard desktop mouse cursor, and the touch screen driver converts it from touch input to cursor/click. All the multi-touch stuff has special drivers as well as special hardware. |
