Maybe you could check if the window that requested the keyboard has HILDON_PORTRAIT_MODE_SUPPORT set on it? If it doesn't, do that part of the code, else, skip and hide().
It isn't easy...I don't have the window in fastsms and perhaps this isn't the problem. Here I only return in landscape to prevent strange behaviour... you can take a look at TextProcessor.commit

If I may make a suggestion: I would do a left alignment for the donate link to PayPal and also put it in your signature (with a link to this thread). As it is, it took me awhile to visually find the donate link since my eyes skipped from reading the version in devel to the instructions.

No but vkb doesn't works in that version :)

However if you didn't reboot your phone you will have the previous version in memory and all works well, in few minutes I will post a new (working) version

lol I just rebooted my phone before your reply! but everything seems to work fine tho, the VK was working, qwerty and t9

You can downgrade to the old version by running "sudo apt-get install fastsms=0.5-0" if the new doesn't work for you.

Really it works with 0-5.1? Wow!
No reason to downgrade, soon 0.5-2 in devel...

@Mentalist: Please let me know if you have again problem with missed commit...Perhaps it is solved now (not yet in web-pages, but I know why)

EDIT: 0.5-3 in devel with some minor fix

if you can make conversations automatically rotate (using cTRL + SHIFT + R) this will work great for portrait conversations..

and if you can add words to dictionary easily.
