Let me reiterate if you didn't actually catch the following 4 pages filled with people nodding in agreement with the thread starter. Unless your fingers are the size of needles, your long press is absolutely going to block the view of the context menu when it appears. It's an annoyance.

From the respondents in this thread alone it would seem that a good 90% of people share the frustration, I'd say this translates pretty well to the entire user base of the N900 myself.

Yeah it's annoying. I just touch and hold, and then release on the item I want to choose. If I want to exit the menu, I just release outside the menu.

now thats a classic, putting everything else on the bench, making it awesome again. anyone comparing their accesibility to THAT has to draw their hat to the magnatude of failure.
