See the post by misiak, as he clarifies my instructions.

"df" will give you that information.

oh yep thanks so it is /dev/mmcblk0p1

if i made
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/n900sd
everything should go well after ?
so i will have to edit .chroot to
IMGFILE=/dev/mmcblk0p1 ???

rootfs is some different file (don't remember name now)
mmcblk0p1, mmcblk0p2 and mmcblk0p3 are (but I don't know which is which exactly) /opt, /home/user/MyDocs and swap partition
mmcblk1p1 and (maybe) mmcblk1p2 are sd cards partitions.

If you want to change partitions, search "repartitioning N900", it has its own threads and maybe even wiki page. But be careful, it's dangerous.

You need to format your sd card as ext3 filesystem instead of fat. Google repartitionin N900 to find out how.

EDIT:

or (as root):
1. unmount sd card
2. use mkfs.ext3 command with correct parameters
3. mount it again

thanks df shows every thing
and i don't want to repartition my n900 unless i had to install nitdroid or meego and even there i might not have to
thanks again for both of you guys :)

No, you don't want to wipe your MyDocs partiton, that will cause your system to be unbootable and require reflashing.
