I asked this too , but still no answer . I'm posting this because I really want to see an answer . :)

Nobody mentioned anything yet which justifys spending £500/$600 on the N9.

I bet the price will be significantly higher that that.

Tried to set up a comparison N9/N8/N900 here
Google translation from German

Your comparison seems to be wrong, since Quim Qil is telling in Meego forums that N9 has both FM receiver and transmitter capabilities, but it's lacking software currently.

Especially the 64 GB version.

as soon as the software is available, I can update the table. Right now, if you pre-order the n9, there is no guarantee at all that fm will ever be functional.

Yep, maybe you need to add a maybe icon to your table ;)

Re: What does the N9 offer above the N900

having read all the replies, I think i've reached the conclusion that the N9 doesn't offer a compelling enough argument to move from the N900.

Why?
1. cost seems to outweigh the benefits
2. more ram is good, but in all honesty i've not found the N900
that slow
3. NFR... more a gimmick really
4. gorilla glass display....this is good, but a reason to spend a few
100 quid upgrading? no
5. more disk space....N900 + a card gives me more than enough
6. No HW keyboard....this really is the dealbreaker for me.

also i'm not clear on whether the N9 will be able to do all the awesome things the N900 does/has apps for
- rdp
- bittorrents
- ftp client
- mount network drives
all of which i use daily for work etc

And the N9 have only one processor.

Pentium 4 3.3GHz > Core i7 2.4GHz

Right?

The N9 's slightly wider and unrounded, beautiful industrial design will cause more hurt to Elop when an angry mob of former mobile sheep and let down MeeGo devs would shove it somewhere.
