Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)

i looked quickly at the src and one thing i noticed was the usbmode.sh in the package is not the same as the one downloaded from http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/usbmode.sh
found on Pali's page at
http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pal...o/bq2415x.html
i did not compare it line by line but i noticed a sleep for 1 second has been added in many places.
are the changes to usbmode.sh needed only for USB Mode, or the usbmode.sh found at http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pali/usbmode.sh is an old version?
also i'm curious why a sleep for 1 second was added?

Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)

Does it work on kp50 too, or do I need kp51?

it dose not work with KP50 you need KP51
the following kernel features are needed (kernel-feature-usbhost-new,kernel-feature-battery and kernel-feature-charger) and they are not available in KP50
Install KP51 and don't forget to reboot for USB mode to work

Hi... Quick question, whats the difference between Host Boost mode and Host Charging mode.

Thanks

with boost the charger mode will be set to boost (and you see the blue light).

with charging the mode will be set to auto.

this is just from reading the script. no idea how accurate my answer is.

Re: Announce: USB Mode (easy switch to USB host mode)

from http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pal...o/bq2415x.html
with charging mode it will set USB mode to host without boost and with charging

so how do we get it in USB host mode while charging at the same time?
supply 5V to the USB port just like a wall charger dose but instead of shorting out D+ and D- connect them to the USB device along with V+ and GND from the charger?

i measured the voltage coming out of the port and it is giving out 5V as expected in host mode
however in "host with charging" mode it is also outputting 5Volts, i was expecting it to have no voltage output at all, maybe it is giving out voltage because it didn't detect voltage on the port from external source?
