Re: [Announce] BackDeb : a Script for Backup Debian Package Installed With Dpkg ( Update 9/6/2012 )

One more package to report to the blacklist: real golf

It took a long time for the packaging but in the end a 0kB .deb was created...It doesn't matter as real golf comes pre-loaded and frankly I don't even use it :D

All Backup Done...

156/164 packages were back-ed up...

Realgolf in the blacklist and the remaining I think were some themes that didn't get back-ed up...

However it means thats a 95% success rate!!

Thanks farfary!

Re: [Announce] BackDeb : a Script for Backup Debian Package Installed With Dpkg ( Update 10/04/2012 )

will be added to the next version of N9QT. Thank You !!!

A little question... From this:
Quote:

BackN9 : a Menu Script For BackDeb
- Backup All User App
- Backup One User App
- Backup One System App
The new script have option for creating not only ALL apps backup, but One User App and One System App. I'm correct ?
If yes, what differences from "backdeb" script ?
Also the new script can create deb's for dependencies from specific apps ?
Thanks

when thedead1440 say about all user app backuping , i edited backn9 and removed other options also released the option of backup package
yes Schturman :) this new script a update of older script with a new name and can :
Backup All User app ( the user app in the ovi cache in backup system ! or all package user installed ) AND One User Package or One System Package :)

Re: [Announce] BackDeb : a Script for Backup Debian Package Installed With Dpkg ( Update 10/04/2012 )

Ok, some good news ! :D
I finished this tweak :p
farfary, thank you very much for your script !
All work perfectly, but I again needed to edit this scripts a little...
* Like before I again got error about "tar" and DEBIAN folder also with opt, usr... - fixed
* Option A - when it should start packaging, I got error: permission denied - fixed
* Also I added some colors to your scripts - looks good :D

Now some problem..
Option O and U - works perfectly
Option A - also work perfectly
But I have a little problem with system backup, because I installed most of my apps via script (it's a easy way to install a large number of apps), this apps not included in:
/home/user/MyDocs/.backups/Backup6/applications.zip
Why, I don't know....
I checked file: Root/home/user/.package-manager/installed-packages.backup, that your script used and all my apps installed via script is NOT here :(

Anyway it's not a problem for me, because I have all original file and for restore I use a different location :)

Thanks, new version of N9QT very soon ;)

Re: [Announce] BackDeb : a Script for Backup Debian Package Installed With Dpkg ( Update 10/04/2012 )

I haven't read the script again but Schturman can't there be a way to find a list of all packages installed on the system then doing a diff with all those that got backed up hence an user can find after running the script the list of applications that didn't get backed up and manually do so...
