./qmlMozEmbedTest -url google.com

Works on QmlMozBrowser, as Alopex is based on it, it should work too.

i used qmlbrowser also with "-url" parameter and it worked, but with alopex it doesn't.

also - i found it's impossible to open the lower address bar in landscape mode - only in portrait.

Is it just me or Alopex have very limited feature?
It don't even have option menu.

Features request:
1. Text selection (like in Opera)
2. Zoom in & zoom out

This project is going to start over again almost from scratch without qml due to performance issues. My knowledge in qtWidget is not as good as qml, so I make no promises as to the speed of development.

*wink wink* maybe it's good moment to start with GTK? It would spare *both* performance issues and input issues, that plague every toolset with "Q" in name...

Good luck and thanks for keeping us posted, nevertheless!

GTK is not possible for embedlite.

omg crazy devs .you guys worked on that hard and now diching it:eek: dont know about programming but anything from scratch is real pain :this time please give good priority to html5 and sites like sahaj which need some kind of java to work:)anyway the most used app on any phone is browser at least for me:):( thanx for the willingness:)

fmg earlier explained why this is not possible (maybe in this very thread) and it has something to do with GL context.

Do you know what causes these issues and do you see any chance that Qt5/QtQuick2 wouldn't suffer from them (if any custom item is implemented using scenegraph)? I was able to compile the hildon components for Qt5 (with parts commented out, http://wiki.maemo.org/Qt5-Maemo5-Development/WhatWorks) and would like to try Alopex, too. Is this https://github.com/qwazix/qmlmozbrowser the current git for Alopex?
