Re: Wanted Software?
I'm hoping that with the recent qt work that Keepass can be ported sometime soon.

Re: Wanted Software?
Yes I would like something as wild and complete as datebook5, a word processor that writes to word perfect (come on it is the best!) with spell check and the ability to sync either through bt connection or over the net when there is a connection.
to be able to (newbie alert) connect with my pc and use natural speaking on the road. wow. then get the file back downloaded to work on off line and resync. yep! Something like that with drawing programs. where I can remote in and draw on my pc sync up to the tablet and work on it off line and resync to the pc. of course just getting my bt keyboard to every time to be found immediately would be great too. |
Re: Wanted Software?
Here's something simple:
An applet that brings up the same menu that the on/off button brings up. So I don't have to use the button. An app that syncs the clock to the internet automatically. |
Re: Wanted Software?
I would like an application to use my n800 as a remote control for my media player on my computer. I use my computer to play videos sometimes and it would be cool to connect to my computer via wifi and be able to control the media player like that. And have a simple on screen gui, w/ some things like play/pause, forward, backward, etc. Maybe a little thing w/ a status bar, but it would be real neat to have. Especially if you have a home media center.

Re: Wanted Software?
I'd like to be able to switch from landscape to portrait mode with the tap of a soft button. The Newton could do that, so it's not a hugely demanding problem. The N800's asymmetric body didn't really lend itself to portrait mode, but it would work fine with the N810 (with the kb closed, of course).

Re: Wanted Software?
Wasn't Midnight Commander ported to Maemo?
Changing subjects, I want my N800 to read aloud to me. Flite already speaks for gps, so a doc reader wouldn't be too hard, maybe. |

Statistical Analysis Program
There is no program (to my knowledge) that does statistical analysis. If anyone would post or create a statistical program that would obviously be great. As a grad student in political science I use Stata and Mplus a lot. If I could run a simple regression on my N800, it would make me very happy. I am not proficient in R, but I would certainly have an incentive to learn if that program was made available for tablets. "R is widely used for statistical software development and data analysis. R's source code is freely available under the GNU General Public License, and pre-compiled binary versions are provided for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and several Linux and other Unix-like operating systems." (Wikipedia, R programming language) |
Re: Wanted Software?
Id like some kind of software for the camera, to filter out the orange and green casts caused by tungsten and fluorescent lights, and to improve the quality under low lighting conditions. I know the camera on the N800 isn't the best, but I'm sure it could be improved upon.
