Try to run 'pkcon refresh' or 'zyp ref' as root, and try installing mce-tools again. Like Manatus said in another thread...

As mentioned here on TJC do the following to solve it:

1. Delete the file
Code:

2. Stop the store-client process - e.g. with
Code:

pkill store-client
3. Reopen Settings app and check for updates again.

well the 2.1.4.14 is out for everyone now, seems like it was stable enough. Now we need to 2.2 to come out soon :)

Not yet for everyone. But patience is an adornment :o

And what about the warehouse incompatibility?
I do not really feel it is ready for all without warehouse (knowing of storeman).

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

OK, I just upgraded my Xperia F5121 to SailfishX 2.1.4.14 Lapuanjoki.

At first my heart skipped a beat when the update process rebooted again soon after showing the white "SONY" screen (I thought it stuck on a reboot loop), no more than 20 seconds later the SailfishOS desktop was there alive and kicking (I guess that reboot was for the kernel update in the early boot).

Linux kernel sadly is still 3.10.84:
Quote:

before update:
Linux version 3.10.84 (abuild@es-17-35) (gcc version 4.9.x-google 20140827 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 11 02:39:03 UTC 2017

after update:
[nemo@Sailfish ~]$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 3.10.84 (abuild@phost8) (gcc version 4.9.x-google 20140827 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jan 24 16:53:18 UTC 2018
Anyway cat /proc/filesystems shows that btrfs is now supported.

22 libraries in /usr/lib/libQt5* were updated to Qt 5.6, but Qt5Location, Qt5Positioning and Qt5Sensors are stuck to 5.2.2 (arrrrrgh) even if included in the update (their timestamp is January 2018). The command pkcon search qtlocation shows only the 5.2.1 (aka the "not yet stable API" one, thus native SFOS apps using it will not be accepted in the Jolla Store).

Looks like this might be already work in progress (or at least the maintainer knows about the issues and is still active):

Warehouse is not yet compatible latest 2.1.4 sailfishos release.

Meanwhile, you may want to use https://openrepos.net/content/osetr/storeman

storeman latest rpm works fine for me. Downloaded it and installed with pkcon install-local. Installed rockpool from it first thing after doing clean flash to 2.1.3.7 and updating to 2.1.4.14 this morning.

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

did they break recovery mode on Jolla 1? After successful update I tried some patches which probably broke lipstick: when I rebooted I get to enter PIN and SIM-PIN after that it blinks to homescreen and reboots.

So I wanted to unapply from recovery. I get to vibrate the phone (volume down+power) with the Jolla logo and then after a while it just reboots as if I haven't put USB cable in.

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

Hey,

on jolla 1 I have tried few times to update but no success.
just got "could not be updated".

so then in terminal I wrote version --dup and system downloaded and install patchmanager 2.3.3-10.41.1 and not sure why.
I have never before installed patchmanager.

Why it was installed ? was it because of "version --dup" command?

after this I was able to install update version 2.1.4.14.
I am not part of EA updates.

... and Patchmanager appeared in SETTINGS and NOTIFICATIONS what I think is usual behaviour.

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

Hi. I just tried updating my tablet and Jolla 1 phone. The tablet seems to update fine. But, similar to melmoth.sk I was not able to update Jolla 1 phone. The error message is "Sailfish could not be updated. Please try again later" Then it asks to reboot. One thing that sounds strange is the message says to try later, which seems like the problem would be on Jolla's end. Is that the case? If not, could use some help here. Thanks!

I have to factory reset my J1 and I'm considering this update then.

Hi. Thanks for you suggestion. I tried "version --dup" in terminal and while it appears to clear up cache it did not appear to work properly or was failing to resolve some issue. Showed an error about not finding a web site location. Also it did show an update was available. There was also a message that some optimizations were needed before the update could proceed. Needed about 1.5GB memory which was available. It appears to me that when trying to update that the download is not completed. Once download was completed it asked to update and it failed.I then get the message to try again later as if there might have been a bad internet connection such that the download was corrupted. Sorry if this is a little vague as I don't have phone with me so I'm simply recalling what happened. Should I have run "version --dup" as superuser? Any other insights?

Well, it is, but don’t forget, it’s an EA release. Probably have some debugging enabled which can explain that

I think the battary drain is OK. A bigger issue is that it can jump from 40% to shutdown so have I no clue when it will checkout :D So you can trust it. Its a gamble.

N9 also had this feature :D

Re: 2.1.4 EA / Lapuanjoki

N9 had, never experienced that with JP1 or SFOSX.

No, usually not: It is just a generic message, that something went wrong.
For details see /var/log/systemupdate.log

Yes, see e.g. Sailfish OS Cheat Sheet.

As it is a quite generic error message, the reasons for it may vary greatly.
I ran into the same message the last couple of SFOS updates, but believe that in my case this is linked to Battery notifier 2 and / or BTRFS balance checker 2. If you have one of them installed, you may disable their autostart, reboot, try updating SFOS, and please report your experience (preferably in aforementioned TJC thread).

I'm not experiencing unusual battery drain on 2.1.4.14 Xperia X. I did the first day or two, but after the indexing settles down it's normal, as good as 2.1.3.7.

Ah - I didn't think of that - I had previously restricted my indexing I think

After doing devel-su I find when trying version --dup, I get the following error

Error: File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://repo.merproject.org/obs/home/kimmoli:tohs/sailfish_latest_arm7hl'

Anyone know what this is about?

I had issues while updating, too.
It turned out I had two adaption repos enabled (adaption0 and adaption1) on my Jolla 1 pointing to the same url and failed updating with
Code:

"Error: cannot install both pattern:jolla-configuration-sbj-0.10.0-10.61.4.jolla.noarch and pattern:jolla-configuration-sbj-0.10.0-10.61.4.jolla.noarch"
A quick message to zendesk gave the solution.
Remove the duplicate adaption1 repo.

This is what you should have on a clean Jolla1.

Code:

ssu rr adaptation1
ssu ur

Then

ssu re 2.1.4.14

I can't manage to find the answer by search TMO nor TJC.

Has someone tested Google Play Store on the latest Alien-Dalvid provided with Sailfish X 2.1.4 on the Sony Xperia ?

- is it finally able to run the latest store ? (9.x)
- or is it still only compatible with the older 7.x and you should block upgrades ?

Maybe also connectivity improvements (qt5-qtwebsockets;5.5.1-1.2.1;armv7hl;jolla) and Whisperfish working again?

-EDIT- Unfortunately, the answer is no with qt5-qtwebsockets v5.5.1 (Jolla) or v5.7.0 (Coderus)

Not Lapuanjoki related at least the symptom "stuck in pending" is well known.
All hacked playstores on Sailfish need to be stopped from autoupgrading to a version newer than (damn i forgot...)

See multiple questions on TJC and here regarding not working playstore, e.g. this and this.
