My friend noticed that I had mispelled the last name Dogg with only one g. But in the plate reads "disguisep" so my suggestion is still possible and fits in the frame.

Found today my own piece of this something. And the size is 2cm x 4cm. What are these and why they are on an old field.https://talk.maemo.org/attachment.ph...1&d=1584300232

Re: To amuse the community

Interesting. If you reversed the image and the letters are backwards in the actual object it indeed seems to be some kind of stamping tool. Maybe for making some posters or flyers?

The material looks more like copper than iron as you claimed?
How thick are the pieces, is it like a strip of sheet metal or are they thicker?

Assuming you are talking about the last picture and not the one before, is definitely looks like (rusted) iron to me. It this also reversed, Maemish?

But... 2x4 cm? I can't think of any good use for that. Maybe a decorative coin? A badge? A necklace pendant?

Why would anyone discard metal plates with English text in fields in Finland?

Maemish 2020-03-16 19:50

Re: To amuse the community

Both texts were mirrored. Reeally weird stuff. And like 3mm thick so not a sheet, more like bulky.

I do not know what the text is in full, but I think it relates to Mr. Rockefeller's use of wig as a disguise:

https://cdnc.ucr.edu/?a=d&d=LAH19060...-txIN--------1

Basically it seems he was quite unrecognizable in this disguise. So this plate seems to be a search order for Mr. Rockefeller and warning that he might use a disguise.

I can only speculate, but it all seems rather clandestine. If I'd be forced to make a guess, this is by some powerful world wide enemies of Rockefeller, maybe some counterforce of Free Masons who Rockefeller was in cohorts with. They distributed these leaflets in secret everywhere in the world in their effort to catch mr. Rockefeller.

Of course when some swamp dwelling Finnish people receive such a plate containing mysterious language they can't comprehend, they will not use it but toss it to the fields. With the impenetrable logic that maybe it is some secret runes that make the plants grow stronger.

Anyway, this is quite an extraordinary finding.

Re: To amuse the community

f you are not joking with the counterforce distributing leaflets I would be really interested to be pointed to some direction with this stuff. Former fan of studying secret societies. Have also done some researches of history of spesific geolocations and if would find the other end of a string could start to pull from history if the ones who were living in a house nearby would have connections to some sort of antimasonic movements.

Have tried to do my duty again - and sent a short plan of how to before try to prevent possible problems which will for sure occur here in Finland as they now quarantined the over 70 old folks - to the secretary of our prime minister Sanna Marin. I do these sometimes. Last one I think was that I called to the presidents office to notice them about a photographer who was peaking very annoyngly in the picture when there was a live stream from the Independents day greetings. Saw then on tv how the guy was pulled back very soon after the call. Have also sent a letter to President to give advices how to react to the flood of immigrants some years ago to give right attitude and spirit for people. I also often give either spokecn or written feedback to lecturers or bands/artist. My duty. Have to do my duty.

I have never learned to play drums but just sometimes tried. Now after many years tried again in my workplace. I wanted to share the recording to my friend, but could not get editing it with a music editor. Got it though to a videoeditor and of we go.

I would describe this to be like mixing together 60s finnish art hippies naturalistic naivist experimental music which was affected by fusion jazz of the time and then you put that sound on a video they show in art exhibitions and show them in some corner behind big black curtains.

Not in anyway a nice experience and requires either good loudspeakers or headphones. This is like a vomit. Have felt something is wrong inside of me and now I got it out.

Maemish, I just noticed one of your sig lines: "For me it is possible to get lost in any case"

There is an easy way to avoid getting lost: don't care where you are going.

Re: To amuse the community

I took one week off work without salary to recover from my summer car project 10 weeks/7-23/7d per week over 500h alltogether. Well haven't rested. Took personal data out from 58 N900s, took them apart, took one iMac apart and back and have been installing systems and today took 7 laptops to recycle after removing rams and hds from them. Still 11 left plus 3 desktops. So I thought that before going back work tomorrow I go to The Bar, Siltanen, and just put some stuff taken from the 58 N900s to my own: music and movies and podcasts. But my laptop did not recognize my N900 as mass storage as before!!! Went through the forum and rwebooted device without success and unmounted the MyDocs from terminal with a script and then was frightened not finding my N900 filesystem with filemanager bwefore remembered I had unmounted mydocs without knowing how to remount so rewbooted and searched for answers and removed easydebbie and some other stuff as pc-connectivity-manager and reinstalled and and and...

Nothing worked. Been so frustrated here in the bar where I waas supposed to relax. Then changed the cable to another usb port in my laptop and "do you want to use as a mass storage or...".

Well done again Maemish!!!

Re: To amuse the community

Here is again a Maemish style of doing things. I have build up a laptop with 7" monitor. I have had a skywave linux installed on it but after that some other OSes. Now I want to install the new Skywave Linux on it. But there are some problems.

1. Skywave now has i3 desktop environment.
2. I have 7" screen with 840x600 resolution as the only option I get
3. My monitor is installed to laptop upsidedown

So what problems do I get from this combo? First when I start Skywave from usb my display shows everything upside down. Well that I can change easily from display settings. But because of the screen size and resolution I do not see everything of the windows on the screen. With LXDE or XFCE or whatever I have managed to use the floating mode for windows but not with i3 now with success.

What does this mean? First I can't change the keyboard layout from the settings, because I can not get to accept the layout I choose. For this problem I decided I need to change the desktop environment. But for that I need to have a networkconnection. I do not see the network icon because of the screen size so I need to go to settings. Took also a while to learn to use i3. When I then get to create a new wifi I need to write my password with a different layout than what I have and I'm used to. Always forget where are the special characters on a different layout,

But ok, then I get the network and I learned after some searching how to get a different environment and how to change to it. So I install lubuntu-desktop and add to keyboard shortcuts the logout option which has been disabled by default in skywave (another thing I had to search for answers how to do it), log out and then get lubuntu desktop. Which is again upsidedown and I have to find out how to turn it (not with screen or display, but with monitor settings, which was hard to find).

But now I want to install this skywave on a harddrive but the .iso does not include installer. The skywave homepage tells that use calamares or ubiquity. So I apt-get install calamares but it won't work. The config file is empty says terminal. Never had an installer without config file.

You have to understand that to get this far I have had to start from the scratch many times because I have live usb without persistence partition so all my settings and such vanish when I mess up something (which I have done a lot today while trying this).

Calamaraes wont start so lets install ubiquity. That starts with sudo ubiquity and I start installing, but it starts to load files before it takes me to where I need to put name and password and after about fifteen minutes installing it says something about can't do and just stoppes.

So calamares. Where to get the conf file. First I download debian conf file. Then I find Lubuntu conf file. Then I search and find that I can just apt-get install calamares-settings-lubuntu and finally it starts installing.

But - the installation window does not move as well as other program windows and I can't get to press the next button. After a while I understand: it does not want to show the bottom of the screen beause it does not have in its conf that ti should understand that someone wants to use the program on a too little screen which is turned upside down. So my only option is to do the installing with upside layout of the program.

Ok. I can do it but it hurts the neck and still I have to drag the window and move the cursor in a mirror way but yes, it starts to partition!!! No, it stopped, because the ssd drive which I have on this has some unrecognized file forms! Whaat? I need to wipe it with gparted. But the installation media hangs on trying to partition. No way to close. I manage to open gparted but it wont mount the ssd cause it is busy. Why? Searching with google how to recognize active programs and how to kill them, At last after many kill commands I got with sudo pkill to terminate the calamares installer and mate-terminal. I try to install again. The calamares gives an error. I try to start from scratch but now I have messed up the skywave usb also.

Now I installed the skywave to another usb, booted up, did all the previous steps with getting wifi and passwords, installing lubuntu desktop, installing calamares and lubuntu settings, and now I first wiped the ssd clean and now, now it seems that it is installing it!!!

But I know that after installation I have to do all the settings again but this time they will stick! I hope. And I need to try to find out how could I make the desktop a bit smaller so I could get everything fitted on the screen. My screen does not show the left side fully and still the windows are too big and the arandr (xrandr with GUI) does not give any other resolution options than one but I think there is a way to get this work in a better way.

I would really like to get the i3 desktop working cause it seems nice and would fit with its style to my laptop. 49% and still installing. There is hope. I want to install Skywave on this because my main purpose will be to use this laptop for radio amateur stuff which I hope I will learn. I have rtl-sdr usb dongles and an old antenna which I have connected to the usb dongle. I would just need someone to guide me through some things. Would like to listen the airplanes which are flying above my house before they land.

Re: To amuse the community

After about 90% installation aborted with errors and terminal filled with errors can't do this or that. Decided I will install Lubuntu and install there separately the needed software and drivers and stuff. Shutted down the usb, took it of and tried to boot. Black screen. No system installed. Didn't shutdown cause was frustrated and suddenly skywave linux booted up!!!

Re: To amuse the community

Wifi connects but can't access internet. Checked for instructions and got that should edit resolv.conf and put 8.8.8.8 google stuff in there. Well I can't do it cause terminal does not show me anything in this i3 environment and I can't download Lubuntu desktop on it without the internet connection.

Going for newest Lubuntu and installing then ham radio metapackage. Why oh why I used the whole day on Skywave?

Re: To amuse the community

Lubuntu installation window could not be moved no matter was it upside down or not. Changed to Bodhi Linux which understood my monitor better. Now installing.

Maemish 2020-09-06 09:15

Re: To amuse the community

And Bodhi it is!!! Ridiculous amount of ways to adjust the windows sizes and layouts. If someone has a small screen Bodhi is the right choice for a noob with confs.

Maemish 2020-09-06 14:48

Re: To amuse the community

No. Bodhi first seemed to work properly but had crashes and major problems with sound and did not get cubicsdr work. Now installing Kubuntu which is the first distro I am able to install NOT upsidedown cause dragging window works perfectly. We (or me atleast) will see.

Maemish 2020-09-06 18:46

Re: To amuse the community

Ok. So Kubuntu works perfectly. It just knows how to resize windows and everything works. Fast. I don't know why I have neglected it so far and stuck with Lubuntu for my device. But here is a link to video which is quite many megabytes but this is a peak in to Maemish life. A short peak to something I am proud of. 8Gb ram, 120Gb fast ssd, JBL Cube inside, touchpad, dvd player, 7" monitor, sdr-rtl configured, all in a Nokia Data KS21 cash register laptop frame from 1989 I think.

A tip for all of those graphics woes you had typing things upside-down and backwards into windows and screens and clicking into unseen dialogs;

EVRYTHING you can do in linux using some GUI tool you also have a way of achieving without gui at all, just by ssh'ing into the device and using cli commands. Everything.

That would be nice to learn some day. I have been doing xgorg.conf stuff and booting into differend modes with boot commands and that short or stuff but ssh - never.

I think this is interesting behaviour with N900 and BlessN900 and screenshot application and file manager. Saved screenshot with a moving image. I thougjt a saved image is a saved image but - no. It is a port to a parallel universe. If this is possible what else can be possible in this reality. Things are not as you have thought they are. Observe things freshly, cause you should doubt now everything you thought you knew. And all this is achieved by using blessed N900 with BlessN900. I start to understand the bigger meaning of this app. What other mind blowing secrets the creator of this app has put in it for us to discover? Free your mind!

Re: To amuse the community

I inherited a bit money and decided to invest them on things needed: a laser printer and an iPad Pro with keyboard to my wife. That was half a year ago. Yesterday got the printer out of the box. IPad still untouched. So if someone is annoyed with me concerning how slow I am responding to N900 spare parts questions and how slow I am to fullfill promised things, I am annoyed too to myself. Half a year!

But so finally made some room for the printer and wiped dust off from our Samsung win 7 laptop which served as our main machine for 8 years, for work and as a telly. Samsung started well and so did the printer. I plugged the usb but got information driver could not be installed correctly. Aaargh! I knew it! Always the same. Well let's search for drivers nd there they are. Download. Done. Install. Admin password: incorrect. Nononononooo! I remembered that when win 7 stopped getting security updates I changed the password to a more secure one - without writing it down!

Is it this? No. That? No. After many attempts I finally thought of checking if I have put a hint there. Password hint: mintin. Meaning the same password which I have in my Linux mint - installation which I do not have anymore! After some more attempts I finally got through with a combination of my two long passwords put together.

Finally can install drivers. Installing. Printer gets the green OK mark. Nice. Suddenly installation says that can't install and cleaning cache. And wiped the whole printer away! Whaaat? But I saw the green OK mark. Install again. Open the same time task manager and spot the installation process. At once when the printer got the green OK mark again I ended the process in task manager. Test print worked! Nice!

But wife needs to use this wirelessly. Let's see. Printer settings. If you wa't to share the printer with others the host win machine has to be online. Can't be!?! There has to be easier way. Search the internet. Install neede software online or use the cd you got with your purchase. What cd? Was there a cd? Yes!

I put the cd inside and start installing again. Now I got to the point where the wireless can be set to work after you unplug the usb cable. I unplugg and the instruction is go to the ip address you get from info page which you get b5 pressing long one button. Got the info. Typed the ip. Browser not loading page, neither Firefox nor Opera. Aaargh!!!!

After a while of strugling in rage I found a link to install neccessary software online. And now the instructions in my own language. Pheew. Installing. Connecting to network. Done. If you wnt to change the direct wifi settings click this link. I certainly do want cause the default password is 123456. I click the link. Which makes my installation cd to spin which I had forgot inside. To view this page you need to enable javascripts. And the cd player starts to keep the noise which sounds someone is banging the cd with a hammer. Aaargh!

Stop installation. Take out cd. Install the online stuff again. But again to view this page you need to enable javascriot. Gladly without the jammed cd noise atleast. But - Oh nonononooo! When security updates for win 7 stopped I remember I made some tweaking to make the machine more secure. It included uninstalling java, disabling internet explorer and disabling A LOT of services not to connect anywhere and to prevent others to install stuff. Now I am that other.

I download java and try to find a solution with firefox as default browser, then with Opera without success. I have to enable the explorer again, change internet setting to restore defaults cause I can't remember all the tweaks I have made. At this point (when I have fought witht his thing for three hours!!!) my wife comes and says it's 11pm and she wants to sleep so can I stop. NO!!! I can't stop now! Not anymore.

Gladly after 5 minutes from there I have managed to set up the wireless and to change the default password for direct wifi and printed a test page.

So much adrenalin in blood it took me couple of hours reading news and watching youtube before managed to go to sleep. Next I need to tweak the win7 back to be a bit more secure again. And then to try to set up the iPad for my wife with ability to print. Horror movie part 2.

Today I took a train to Lahti from Helsinki and was about to buy a Skoda Octavia 4x4 wirk 1.8L turbo. Felt really good to drive but has started to rust here and there and the interior was really worn out. My kids have been embarrassed for we drove many years with Nissan Micra 1.3l which was not the sexiest. Ended up buying a Kia Sportage 4x4 2.0l with leather seats and opening roof with extra led front lights for 4.200Eur with perfect and full repair history. So far so good. Have driven today over 200km and driving in total dark roads feel like driving in daylight.
