Don't get Zagg. I had it on my N97 and the sensitivity got worse. And also it doesnt cover up the ENTIRE screen, leaves some space.

Coupon code for HighTec or NanoTec is: 3172588301 (€1,50)

It's not much but it meant free shipping for my Hightec protecor.

I don't have any experience with these protectors but i read some good things about them. And they have them customized for the N900.

N900 Cover/Case options

Sorry to bog down the thread with a minor question like this ;-)

After pre-ordering my new n900 off Amazon, I'm now thinking about some logistical things like - a case.

As I understand, it does not ship with a case so I wondered if those of you out there who already have one, and understanding thsat it can be a personal choice thing....any tips for a case / cover..what works best...
  • Rubberised
  • Full leather
  • Belt clipped (profile)
  • Belt clipped (Landscape)

Finally, are the 'screen protectors' recommended for this type of screen?

Cheers yous fullas.

Nokia N900 case ( which isn't even available yet in the US ) you can get off Ebay

Zagg full body or just screen protector

All you need to protect and carry your N900

Re: N900 Cover/Case options

Obviously it depends on how many devices you carry and how you prefer to carry them. When I had to carry two devices (a work cell and my n810) I put my work cell on my pocket with a belt clip and the n810 in my pocket. With the n900, I won't need the work cell and will be putting in a belt case on my pocket instead. Obviously it needs to be a vertical case, so I'm getting: http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product...ducts_id=24074

I'm ordering a zagg full body protection. The screen protector might reduce sensitivity but I'm willing to take the chance as I know that more often than not, I'm not kind to my mobile devices :)

Same here. Someone said that Durasec doesn't lessen the precision like Zagg does, but they are both screen protectors so I'm sure they both lessen the precision.

Very important topic IMHO. So many cases, screen protectors, etc., makes it hard to choose.

Yea tell me about it. I really with Seidio would make a case for it. I miss having the beltclip that I did with the blackberry. This might be a little bulky for it. The slider makes it a little tricky to get a decent hard plastic cover for it. Has anyone seen any snap fit custom ones for the N900 yet?

Does anyone know if there will ever be an option to customize the back cover?
I've come across this photo;
I know, it's one of the ugliest things ever seen on this planet, but makes me thing it might be possible to get something like the bold one.

I would be happy with a slip on case or something like that.

I bought one of those, it looks fine and seems as it will hold on pretty well and be a decent fit. It´ll do its job until Noreve (www.noreveusa) come out with their full leather cases.

I´ve bought 4 cases from Noreve and my parents liked mine so much that they´ve bought at least 6 more from Noreve. A little pricey, but very nice. Noreve told me there´d be a 15% coupon coming up at the end of this month, just about the time their N900 case should arrive.

I reckon the n900 is chunky enough already!
My pocket will be protection enough. Keys and coins in the _other_ pocket though :-)

That's why I'm using the full body shield from Zagg, which won't add any size to the body--the Nokia N900 leather carrying case will be just for carrying the phone.

I can second this, always had good experiences with durasecs. And the description on their page sounds promising. I guess I'll buy that one. :)

"David Dickson,

Recently, you submitted your name to send us your Nokia N900 for us to design an invisibleSHIELD for it. We have now received enough requests for this device that we would like to design an invisibleSHIELD for it.
"

So I guess they will be making it after it is released, problem is you may have to wait for the skin as it probably won't be around for a few weeks after the release.

If you haven't seen these before, I can recommend them very highly as I have one for my N95. They are very good for protection/anti glare and has saved my N95 from quite a few stratches!! The installation is relatively simple and easy and has very low impact on the device as the skin is very very thin, also it helps with the grip on the device as well, which might be useful for the one handed landscape mode! :) They also offer just the screen cover (rather than the whole body) on many of the devices on the website so I guess they will for N900 too, but I would go for the whole thing!

The only point I would add is that the N95 is not touch screen so I can't comment on if this affects the touch screen aspect in anyway but I guess not as there are other sheilds for touch screen devices on the website.

Hope that helps/adds another option.....

Zagg posted their product on the American site at the weekend. I found Expansys have it on theirs now (http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=192007) too so can order from a UK company at last. My order is placed with cheapy shipping via Royal Mail so ETA is about January! LOl.

When it arrives can you do a mini review of the response compared to the naked device? I'll try to do the same then we have a comparison of the two main solutions!

So which should one get.
The Durasec or Zagg or maybe something else?

Re: N900 Case / Pouch / Screen protector

I have already got the cp-321 leather case and it is really nice(wish i had the phone to go in it).
I am planning on getting the ZAGG full body protector for it as well. My only concern is some people have reported that it is hard to use a stylus on them.
The durasec ones got horrible reviews i honestly couldn't find a positive one.

There are the 3m made screen protectors sold at protectionfilms24.com but they seem quite expensive and do not come with the applier like the ZAGG protectors.

Laughing Man 2009-11-24 13:20

Re: N900 Screen protector/skin

Yes, please do a review of durasec, I've only had experience with Zagg's InvisibleShield and I am considering Durasec. Zagg's is great for protecting your device but it makes it hard to draw and handwrite with the stylus.

Re: N900 Case / Pouch / Screen protector

I have a Vikuiti DQC-160 screen protector laying around right beside my monitor. Of course I can't say anything about it - since the N900 itself isn't even shipped yet.

My decission for Vikuiti was based on quite some reasearch in several PDA and smartphone forums. Durasec only got very mixed comments, especially a sticky film when removing the protector appeared in some comments. Vikuiti protectors recieved basicly complete positive comments.

In addition to that, schutzfolien24.de offers free shipping for germany. So I only paid about 9,- €uros for the protector. Delivery was fast, ordered on sunday evening, it got shipped monday morning and I got it on tuesday.
Their international site would be protectionfilms24.com, just search for the N900.

One question: With the invisibleshield from zagg, will I be able to remove the back cover to access the sim card etc. or will I have to remove the protector first which would be a let down for me :P

I really doubt they'd be that stupid to try and put a film over a crack between 2 parts of a case... :)

I actually would like a privacy filter capable screen protector.
I use it with my PSP and it's great. Wonder if there is one for N900?
(Maybe it's too thick to be used with touch screen?)
