I'm not sure if I can get into any trouble saying this, but I kinda feel like the honest customers got the short end of the stick here.

Any one know anything about level packs 4+

for the N900

its really dissapointing to see 6 come out for the iphone when when we havent seen 4 yet

for that matter are 2 and 3 up yet (though i got them when they were there briefly)

Well, I might know something. :)

The only reason why N900 version of Angry Birds is lagging behind iPhone is that Ovi Store is not yet open for paid N900 content. When the store opens we will bring updated iPhone content also to N900.

@Miika - thanks for the update (and the email you sent me)

So on the assumption that the updated payment taking ovi store is awaiting the new PR1.2 N900 firmware, we put 'new angry birds levels' back to another thing awaiting PR1.2

as i was stunned to see iphone users get pack 5 for free


any idea on when ovi store might be fixed, or are you in the dark as much as us.

And is there anywhere I can buy the extra chapters in the meantime? I just finished getting 3 stars in each level of the first chapter.

I don't know anything about the pricing model of new levels on N900 or when Ovi Store opens for paid applications. All I know is that we are definitely going to bring the levels also to N900. :)

Miika, is it possible to sell the extra level without going thru Ovi?
I mean, have your own verification process and then email out the level or link for download?

Like Nokia E71 has Joikuspot that doesn't need to go thru ovi?

Yes, it is possible to sell content directly without Ovi. However, we are in the business of making games, not e-stores, so unfortunately we don't have the necessary resources for setting up our own store, especially if it's going to be only temporary.

at this point, it almost feels safe to say it wouldnt have to be temporary, and in fact, would be a wiser solution that depending on these ovi people who either cant figure out how to make the thing work or simply dont care anymore... I mean,.. what has it been now? 6 or 7 months since most people got their N900s and we still dont really have an official working "store"... I really want to support this device and all involved, but we gotta admit, this is kinda ridiculous.

god bless the maemo community for all their cool and free apps for this device, and for developing solutions for so many of the simple shortcomings most people were concerned with. And thanks Miika for supporting those who figured out how to make custom levels for the game while we all wait. The people here are whats keeping this device alive.

I hope we see the same updates on the n900 version.. getting pretty bored with angrybirds + levelpack.. got 3 stars on all maps, atleast 3 times now.

You are ingrateful you know that? Why do you think Angry Birds was released free (at least the first levels) for the Nokia N900? Do you think that rovio decided to go into charity? No. Nokia paid some royalities so that you could get Angry Birds. Don't complain. Be happy with what you have. Even if OVI store was fully functional, Rovio would still develop for the iPhone first due to the number of users.

Anyways I just got three stars on all levels yesterday :D

slightly off topic but does anyone know the location of the save game file ? would like to backup my save game in case i need to flash my device but cant find correct file to backup ?

They are located in /var/opt/rovio/angrybirds/

Just remember that you need to restore the file permissions also correctly after copying the files back, or the game is not able to modify the files anymore.

Man, they f*cked with the interface. I liked it the way it was, but I know how these things go. Maybe they were tired of coming up with new icons for the sub-sections.

the deal is that ovi store simply doesn't work. they charged me 13x 1,3 eur when I tried to buy levelpack that cost 3 euros multiple times always resulting to error before payment could be done...

Well i'm happy to finally get back the extra levels. Managed to buy them when they for the first time appeared in January, ... before they were pulled out.

Then the device was trashed in March because of the infamous USB port detached issue, got it back after repair (whole main board and IMEI changed) after few weeks and naturally i was out of the extra levels as well.

Installed again the extra-levels just a while ago and to my surprise after all fiascos... and let downs with OVI store, it actually remembered that i have allready once paid for them... installed them flawlessly , i'm happy that at least this feature seems to work as intended... :)

Has anyone who purchased the Angry Birds Level Pack 1 in the past (a few months ago) tried to re-download it? When I click the download button, the page loads for a second and then it "finishes." Nothing pops up or installs...

i have installed the free levelpacks months ago...then today i bought the levels via ovi.... then i deleted the file of the free levelpacks... and i think this didnt work... the levels are still in the game... and the bought levels via ovi are not available when i start the game....only the free levelpack months ago... what can i do to remove the freelevelpack??

install ssh client and server, personal ip address, then download WinSCP and connect using your username and password and the ip address shown on your phone, once u get there, go to opt/rovio/angrybirds/data/levels

you will see level 1, level 2 and level 3

delete them if u want and reinstall them..
