Is it at all possible to change teh favourites at the moment.
for now all I want to see if all the WC world cup groups and the English Premierleague
I've tried the add/remove buttons but they do nothing :-)

The table icon I would change from 1/2/3 side-by-side to a list style approach. 1-3 from top to bottom, may be move 2 & 3 (seperately) to the right the further you move down!

Nope, favourites can not changed at this moment and add/remove buttons are not implemented yet.

This is because the qsportsevent.db has permissions set to 644 by default so it is not possible to make any updates to the local SQLITE database. If you change to 666, 'remove' will work. 'Add' has yet another bug. Anyway, I'll fix both issues for the next version.

Hi!

Attached you find 2 sets of Icons - one in dark blue and one in light blue. Idea was that it looks more organized / coordinated / consistent if each icon has the same color.
Each set contains all icons so far plus your additionally requested ones.
Each icon is included in sizes 32x32, 48x48 and 64x64.

If you want to use another color, mixed colors or any other icons please let me know. I will be more than happy to see what I can do depending on my schedule...

Some sites offer iPhone apps for free. Thats why I think it might be possible that they are willing to support QSportsEvent by giving access to their data under certain conditions...maybe ads or links to those websites or the app published under their name/brand.

Ok, I'm working on some very 'prototype' kind of functionality for QSportsEvent:D. I plan to use it for today's Champions League semifinal. I might be able to release it to this forum in time. Let's see if it is of any interest to anyone...

To keep the readability high I have taken out the "Sports Tracker" name since the title will be under the icon anyway. We can either have just a Q (which I suggest)

As a shortcut on the desktop, the name is not there and would have to be in the icon. 'Q' is too generic as many apps built with Qt start with Q, e.g., my own QTeachMe. I really liked the Q shaped football!

That is why I designed my icon with a black background. White on black is much more readable than black on white. I assure you that the icon will be readable if you put a light colour on a dark background. Even text,

As a shortcut on the Desktop I do not want text underneath hence it is a SHORTCUT and I want to quickly identify the button by it's colour/shape/icon, not text. Let's keep it simple.

But yeah, I agree with the Q, it's too broad as a stand-alone: will do a new one today. Problem is, we are talking about a minuscule button in sizes 64x64 / 48x48, we loose a lot of detail we do not even need to include, therefore I strongly advice to keep it simple.

@pantera1989, without trying to step on your toes, the ones your made are nice pictures, but have not got much to do with standard logo/icon design. :(

Unfortunately, I was not able to complete the version I'm working on to satisfaction, so the next release will be delayed a couple of days. :(

Yeah I know. I just wanted to post an idea. I always liked the globe/football idea. I just wanted to say that a light colour on a dark background is much more visible. The golden ball was way prettier.

Well... It's not much of a secret that I am an Inter Milan fan, so yes, the mood is good today. :D

Although your point brings up a topic for consideration. Should QSportsEvent provide links to discussion groups in parallel with the links I'm now providing to a news site for each league? I guess that would mean another tab, another column in the favourites, and... another icon :). All quite easy to do, and if you find it useful (and can provide some sample sites), I'll do it. Mind you that I hope that I don't have to get involved in managing user ids and passwords for such forums and would hope that the webkit can handle that for me...

I only now had a look at this material. The icons are really nice, but at 216x216, they're too big to be useful... Does anyone know how to scale them down? The biggest I'll ever need is probably 64x64, but more likely 48x48 or 32x32.

I guess the naming convention is according to ISO 3166? That'll make it easier for me to map to them in the app.

Hey magnuslu how about using this: http://www.fotosizer.com/download.aspx

It's a batch image resizer so you can do a lot at once. And it's free. I would do it myself but only you know which icons you need which size. This eases your job a lot I think.

About the discussion groups..moderating them would be necessary and quite time consuming. Can't you do something like 4chan? Everyone anonymous..and it's up to the users to post responsibly: http://www.4chan.org/

Well, at least for the time being, I was more thinking of riding om some existing communities/forums. I don't think QSportsEvent has a large enough following (yet? :D ) to support its own active forum. But hey! Let's brainstorm here! Could we set up a hosted (free...) forum somewhere, if we want to do our own? Or else, what forums to link to?

Ok, I've got v. 0.0.5 running on my device now :D This time I'll do some testing before uploading it either here or to Extras-Devel. It seems more stable now, but I'll let it open for >30min before I can claim victory over the auto-shutdown. I've noted some 10 issues to fix before I upload. The main one remaining is that the Db is still read only, so I have to do root + chmod to really test it. In the meantime, for the benefit of the icon contributors out there, I share the latest screenshots. Enjoy!

Screens from the application itself look absolutely stunning, Shortcut Icon on the Desktop looks awful. :( Im on it boys :)

The current version in Extras-Devel (0.0.3) is no good as it has the dependency issue you are reporting. I hope to make 0.0.5 available later today with those issues resolved. I wish I knew how to remove 0.0.3 to cause less confusion for you out there. The cause is the PR1.2/Qt4.6 used by autobuilder. That issue is now reportedly resolved.
