Does that work even if the dsp is active, for example when playing music (the 'dspjpegenc' part)?

Yes it works :)

Have you successfully installed gstreamer-tools? I don't remember, but I think the exact name is gstreamer-tools1.0 or something like this.

Sorry for my English.

The exact name is "gstreamer-tools" don't mistake it with gstreamer-tools-0.10 or something like that

Strange... You couldn't install gstreamer-tools. I installed gstreamer-tools-0.10 (or 0.8).

Well, I will upload a new package later tonight to the extras-devel repositories, so I will see if my Depends field in control file is correct, or it should be corrected.

I just installed imhere.deb file via xterminal using dpkg -i command.
Then ran apt-get -f install to fix/install the dependancies automatically. Easy.

Hi guys, good news, as some of you remember I had a problem with activating internet connection without the popup window. It is solved now, I had a "typo" - damn it so many hours wasted :) But hey, it will work in the next version :) Follow the thread I will announce the update

Not in this version yet... You are able to configure settings only once at the first installation time and then you need to activate it with the config text message.

But I will update tonight newer version for sure( i was planning to do that yesterday, but I didn't have enough time)

I will add the option of configuring it again after every reinstallation/upgrade/update. It will ask for the config password before you can configure settings.

To uninstall next version, you will have to go to config settings and then check option: "allow to uninstall", otherwise it will fail.

Hi,

Well, "hidden shortcut will come someday", I have been thinking of a transparent widget, that you could place on one of your screens.

However I have now busy night with upgrading to newer version, that I have written about while ago and then I will have very busy 3 days in private life, so I won't be available for programming so much. However next weekend You might get a huge surprise = It will be possibly possible to connect to a web based tracking software :) Thumbs up, hopefully I will be able to manage that integration with software implemented by one of the users.

I was reading some posts, saying Ranchol is making a keyloger...
...Ehhhhmmmmmmm...
Supposing it's true, please Ranchol, if you are stealing my wife's phone number, be nice and polite when trying to seduce her...
...And tell my mommy I'm working very hard... and give her a kiss.

Anyway, THANKS FOR YOUR GREAT APP! WE NEED IT!

how about just a shell command? its not needed that often that you need a widget for it, and a shell command is implemented way easier…

New version 0.3 is not sending e-mail notifications to gmail account. All was working before upgrade. Checked all details are correct. Sms alerts getting through ok.

Yes I know, that is way I haven't uploaded the app yet to devel. It was for testing the abilities for now:) It has been way to easy to find out such things for people that know what to do:) There has been one issue with finding out the password for the e-mail account also.

I said it is not safe yet for storing any important passwords:)

Anyway, new version is on the way, I am working on it right now, Passwords will be completely safe, not possible to break - I will be able to bet for that one a lot of money :)

Yes, I have noticed that, It will not work currently for few hours at least.

It might be related to the broken pass to the e-mail or the traffic might have been to high for one account? I have noticed almost 300 downloads from last saturday. So it could have been quite busy...

One issue to fix is to disable the back camera pic, when the shutter is not open. should decrease the traffic a lot.

Fix will come with 0.2 version.

@rachol

900 thumbs up!

IMO one of the best community-involved app development threads.

I wish nokia would hire you and give you money for doing an awesome job like this.

Dont get me wrong, there are several developers very committed to the community (eg. titan, letho,frals,shoku.etc). I am just surprised that 99% of features and comments have been taken into the app.

Yes I believe open sourcing it would benefit from other developers experience, but I agree with rachol that it his ultimately his decision when its ready to be released. so far he is doing an extraordinary job upkeeping/updating his code. And if he is anything like me I like to finish what I started (in RL,not developing), just to proof my self that I can and be proud of what I accomplished. If that is true I can relate to that.

nevertheless Im sure if he ever reaches an impasse he will maybe ask for advice in this thread and when its finished it will be release, right?

anyway kuddos for your work and keep it up!

Re: [Announce] I am here - Request GPS position and more with SMS

Ok, just wanted to report my progress:)

Just know I have managed to implement mail client for gmail. I have created new account. Now there shouldn't be any problem any more with receiving e-mail on hotmails account and allowed bandwith will be probably higher.

One more fix has been done also. As some of you reported e-mails with "-" in it where not accepted. Now I changed the verification schema, so it should be better.

There are still some things I want to fix before new update.

Edit: Just got finally fixed: activate networking without users knowledge.

Edit: Didn't manage to finnish all the things I planned, I'll continue after few hours

That's the software I'm looking at! Great!

I read fast this thread (all 19 pages), but I didn't found a feature that could be usable... I like to have a possibility to put my N900 make sounds for locating its exact place. Usually the phone is just lost in my home or car, some where near... The sounds might have an option to be 1) polite, small beeps or 2) loud continuous, like thief alarm :D

Or did I miss something, is it already implemented?

That would be great. A loud Sound that can't be turned off or muted.
Or a loud scream "I was stolen, call the police"

Rachol - this is probably one of the most useful apps for the N900. Thanks for all of your hard work and thanks for the extra help that you gave me when I discovered the bug with the passwords. :)

Re: [Announce] I am here - Request GPS position and more with SMS

Is it bug or not?
If you take out your SIM-card, then turn phone on (phone starts sending emails - it's OK) and then put the same SIM-card, the program starts sending sms "SIM-card changed. New SIM-card IMSI.....".

Is it better, probably, to store somewhere IMSI and check if it was changed?

That's the regular choice. But my phone has voice mail enabled, if I don't answer quickly enough, it directs the call to voice mail and stops ringing. And calling repeatedly is not fun; also it drains lot of power from N900 battery to answer those calls (you know). I don't want to be situation, where I use all juices from my lost N900 battery... that's why "a quick beep in every 30 secs for next 15 minutes" feature would be nice.

...and why not with a message in screen: "I have lost this phone, please call +555-123456. Reward!"

SIM card check bug
- - I have to check that out. I will fix it I forgot that if you send a message without sim card, Nokia will store the information, that the message was not send and it will send it after entering new SIM card (nokia's feature :) )

I will fix it,not allowing sms's when there is no SIM Card

BTW. I am going to release the source code today. I won't release only 1 cpp file, that has 2 methods returning fragile data.

I am not sure If I can add this show Config on demand without sending a message, but maybe someone checking out the source code might help me...

@rachol. This is something you have heard before, but can't repeet it to much..
This app kicks ***! Gerat work. It's people like you who gets succsess in there life, by working as hard as you do.

I've been folowing this tread since the start and i see that there are many wishes for what this app should do, so i'm almoust afraid to make some myself..

It would be nice if you can make it so that i can send an sms to my lost phone, and it would grow a set of wings and fly back to my pants... ;) lol

Joke aside..
I think it would be usefull to attatch the 5 - 10 last outgoing phonecalls (phone numbers and time/date) in every emails.
This way it's still a chanse that the police can trace a thief, or atleast make him look bad by contacting his contacs and tell them that he is stealing phones. Or whatever you would like to do.. (Maby he calld he's mother. lol) This is a nice option if everything else fails.

I know my english sucks..... But atleast i'm trying.

Re: [Announce] I am here - Request GPS position and more with SMS

Hi, finally i am very happy to announce new version of "imhere"

Change log:

Added very strong Encryption of all the password set by the user.

E-mail address checker should be able to validate every valid e-mail address and let it through.

You can disable application removal in the config wizard. If you do it,it will be not possible to uninstall it, unless you change settings again.

GMail account is used for sending e-mails, that means the hotmail receivers should not have problems anymore.

Picture from the main camera is not sent if the shutter is not opened, it saves a lot of bandwith.

Bug fixes related to SIM card change/removal.

Very important option added: Changing connection settings in the background so a popup asking for a choosing connection will not appear.

Minor bug fixes One of the desired features is released: Source code is available for viewing. only one file Data.cpp is not uploaded, because it contains fragile data. It does only store, convert and encode passwords and file locations.

Pictures taken from cameras are not left on the phone, they are automatically deleted when not needed

INSTALLATION:

This version has a different name, configuration is stored in a different place, it has been done much safer now.

Please uninstall old version you have and install new version, simple update will not work, you will be left with 2 applications running:) So just remember to remove the old one first.

Thank you :)
