"Web camera" works much better now, but anyone got skype video to work, I get all the options see my dodgy face on n900 but nothing on client and no video coming from client, skype shows me as video available though.
Looks like I may be in trouble with google video, as I suspected (not nokias fault there) as not having a windows machine I get some error about unsupported codec which is a real bummer.

after installing codecs gtalk video works fine (gstreamer-bad etc)
skype is a bummer though...

I will never understand the way they measure all these settings. We had 2 phone next to each other, both on wifi- N900 and 3gS, the random page was loading up faster on N900 than on 3gs. W/e.

Of course sorting and different algorithms in javas tell how browser handles simple html(with divs and tables)+css and how efficiently it uses it´s own cache and memory.

Opera ftw. That thing has been fastest browser on my machine no matther what different benchmarks have said. Big thanks to cache behaviour and responsiveness of ui. That single handedly has made it fastest to use on my old machine. YMMV :)

I tryed the benchmark again and i got 19281, so a bit better than the last time. Im not sure if this affects anything, but im using Lehto's OC'd kernel.

It's really funny to see how ppl behaviour can be determined by couple of variables ;).

However there is a other side, I thing Nokia is playing risky game with users in this case. By HK Release they treated us like fools and someone proved that today no matter is this leaked stuff final or not really.

Nokia is not playing any games. Were this any other company, you'd never have any insight whatsoever as to whether or not upgrades were coming or when, until real late (if at all.)

This is people who have so hyped themselves up on PR1.2 that they're willing to jump on anything that comes along without thinking and finding themselves in a pinch.

Has anyone noticed that a lot of the user files and icons have been moved off the root partition into opt? I dunno if it has already been mentioned but this thread is getting rather long now.

i somehow feel booting is faster and music via speakers are a lill louder and clearer (lesser distortion), can be a placebo effect tho.

p.s. - Is it my phone or with everyone, i cant find the "search" option in app manager -> download section, to search for an application.

I've problem with Mail for Exchange - I cannot save settings. Everything works fine until I exit the Settings, than everything disappeared. Am I alone? Thanks!

Hmm this test doesn't work for me in Fennec (nightly build), since it requires Flash for the Fractals Test (http://browsermark.rightware.com/bro...sh/fractal.swf)

Fennec does not enable flash by default though.

I'm still wondering whether the iPhone 3GS test includes flash or not. I'd like to run the test without flash.

Can someone upload a sample recorded video (848x800@24fps) to compare the quality to the previous pr1.1.1 video recording?

I read a post on the previous thread that the bitrate had been significantly dropped 3500kbps to like 600kbps and this worries me alot

This may be how video recording is now "smooth" and doesnt drop frames, because they may have significantly reduced the quality.

That's not a bug. It's by purpose since the power supply cable might act as an antenna and transmit more power than allowed.

There are some scripts in extras-devel that let you adjust the TX power, anyway.

Browsing the web is a bit faster, the device seems a bit faster in everything.. i like portrait browsing mode but atm i see you cant close a webpage if you do not return to landscape mode (ther's not a X button). Camera seems pretty similar except for the night mode (for pics and videos), maps got a great improvement its faster than before but lacks of voice guidance. Email widget shows up but its nothing special.. i found a nasty bug into the calendar..i dunno why the calendar widget doesnt display anything..i tried to create today's events etc but nothing is displayed :/ (error resolved by itself after a random numbers of reboots lol) also ive noticed an improvement for data counters..now home and roaming data are splitted (thats why dataplan monitor doesnt work). thers a new option under settings that is called "clear device" ..i didnt tried it so i dont know what "clear" will do..
The only thing i cannot understand is how n900 manges video calls. i did many calls to and from n900 using skype and gtalk.. and not always i was able to make videocalls. sometims the camera button didnt appear .. for example i tried to call from n900 to my laptop (with gtalk) and i wasn't able to make a video call. then i tried to call my desktop (with the same gtalk account that was on the laptop) and this time the camera button magically appeared ... :S i have the same version of gtalk, same settings and 2 webcams.. i noticed that if i call with skype or gtalk a user who has skype/gtalk on another n900 then videocalls are always possible.. quite odd huh ?

To those who have PR1.2 installed and are claiming microb speedups:

Go to: about:config in microb, search for jit

Are the chrome/content jit options set to true on your device? (They aren't on by default on 1.1)

If they aren't on by default, try setting them to True and see if you get further improvements.
