Just asked if I give they can give me an eta on the update if I give my handset code, awaiting response.

Also...i have a previously flashed to Global N900 which i bought in india..
So i can update to the Global firmware again right....and i have kernel - power installed :/

help pls.

Reffyyyy, thank you very much. I didn't know that "details" would tell you the conflicts.

I apt-get remove'd the conflicts down my n900's throat and now it's happily installing OTA. Thank you very much for not having to touch that piece-of-garbage OVI suite again.

CloudGPS seems to have been the main culprit.

finally reached m'sia a few hours ago. got it updated. but some bugs i've noticed. sigh. when selecting which internet connection to use, the first line is always a disconnect from current connection. that line shows up with no text now. the text takes a few seconds to appear.

Updated over the air from Israel.

First update downloaded 79.x MB, it rebooted half way through.
The system booted (with updating firmware white screen and all) , but was in PR1.2
App manager reported 1.3 is waiting for update.
It downloded 47MB, rebooted, white updating screen, etc...
Booted into PR1.2
Did that 3-4 times until the device no longer booted.

Was not able to flash the system on 64bit windows, had to find an XP machine.
Flashed my system with PR1.2

The system booted with no apps installed.
Now am trying to update to PR1.3 again (since nothing is installed anymore).



Now I'm updating

Got the update right infront of me, but friggin' phone wont let me!
It says:
"In order to upgrade your OS, connect your device to PC Suite and proceed."
DANG YOU NOKIA! I dont have a working PC Suite on Ubuntu! (They seriously hate Ubuntu, dont they?)
Now ill have to spend time setting up an XP in VMWare to have PC Suite...

I would still backup just incase. I backed-up and everything seems to be just fine when I upgraded. Didn't have to restore my backup after the update.

I have updated "Maemo5" through FAPMAN..then I updated all libs through default Application manager...in both case there is no auto reboot of device.

I have theni rebooted device manually...it shows now that I have PR1.3 running..but I do not notice any performance difference...so question is what is really new in PR1.3?

Hmm I got some problem.
When I restored my backup and got the question to reinstall all the apps I did that all thou I deselected all the powerkernelstuff. But Mobile Hotspot depended somehow on some kernel-stuff and when I reboted after the reinstallation off all apps my phone doesnt start.
Reflashed manually, got it upp and running again.
Now I will only reinstall the most important apps.
Lets hope it doesnt mess up again.

The update says that I need to do it via Windows, What do I do if I don't have windows?

So what your saying is that I have to have windows to have Linux ? I hate windows and have not used it for the past 4 years.

Tried updating in US, got conflict mesg: Conflict with application packages: libqt4-test 4.6.2~git20100401-0maemo1+0m5 . It ask to install using PC Suit.

Any one faced this error ? Is it ok to un-install libqt4-test using root access with command - apt-get uninstall <pkg> ?

I had the problem of "needing to install via PC" but after I saw a post in this thread that updated can show conflicting packages I installed tuxracer which had the conflicting package and then this update went smoothly. No idea tho if something got broken in the process :)

The message is lieing. It means you need more free space, so uninstall some apps.

Same thing happened with PR1.2, so a shame Nokia still broke it.

It works here in The Netherlands, but i''m now reinstalling all my apps because they where all deleted. Luckily i made a back-up before updating

Had issues updating OTA, it said the problem was libgles1 for me the app requiering this was GLtron. I just thought someone might want to know. I had to get root and try to uninstall libgles1 w/ dpkg for it to tell me what program requiered the library. There has got to be an easier way to find what app depends on a package. anyway update on the way now.. :) hoping for the best, backed up just in case..
