If you have done mc-tool -thing.. remove them and fallow those steps again. then reboot and make new account with phones own account UI :).

This is what many people have waited :). So nice.

I followed the steps posted at MyNokiaBlog.Com i.e http://mynokiablog.com/2011/12/11/im...oo-on-nokian9/ .

What is the mc-tool thing?

I had also tried deleting all accounts and setting them up again but the problem still persists.

so... you do not have the old one haze/msn? Is this the first time to try to add msn on you phone? If it is the first time and you follow those steps.. You only have to reboot and make the account..

Do you have PR 1.0 or PR 1.1?

just shutdown your phone by pressing power button :) and then power it up again. In the Ovi market you can download an app, which can do reboot and power off. if you like to use that.

But this is what I have been doing all along. I switch off the device but when I switch it on, the accounts pop up asking for password entry.

I tried deleting all accounts and the switched off and then on but when I set-up twitter and facebook and did the reboot, the problem was still there.

It should be resolved in PR1.2
https://harmattan-bugs.nokia.com/show_bug.cgi?id=123

Other way would be to reflash the device if you don't want to wait until PR1.2

i don't know if this will help.

Thanks for your input. This is now fixed in the internal releases and will be
available in the future updates for N9. However as a workaround you could do
Settings -> Reset -> clear device and re-configure all your accounts.

Note:
This will clear all your data on the device. Backup and restore is not an
option as it would get back the old settings and problem persists."

I will just live with the problem and wait for PR 1.2. I don't know anything about reflash and would not want to risk more problems.

Thanks.

I noted that some users have tried this and it has not worked. Let me just wait for PR 1.2 although the bug is very frustrating.

I re-installed PR 1.1.1 and the password requests seem to have disappeared.

OK, so I have haze/gadugadu account working... sort of...

Does anybody know how to enable integration with contacts? At the moment I am able only to respond to chat initiated by the other party, I have no way to initiate chat myself. Help!!! :)

TIA

If you've got the account set up only in telepathy, then you can initiate a chat by opening Messaging, tapping the speech bubble icon in the bottom right corner, then selecting a contact from the list.

I've attached provider and service files for gadu-gadu. Copy them into /usr/share/accounts/(providers or services), delete your old mc-tool account and register a new one with the Accounts app. There are no gadu-gadu icons in harmattan - you'll have to make some :)

Let me know if it works, I don't have a gadu-gadu account to test with.

The problem is, there is nobody in the contact list. And what is really strange, if I receive a message, then after some time the proper name of the contact gets shown as if it was from my address book (address book imported from N900, where gadugadu was included)

Great, but I am not willing to enable developer mode unless I really have to. I'll package these files into deb and then try it, but I wont have time for that this week.

I have installed the following packages:
Code:

dddc143e2432ea47dfcd37a1b6a79c27  libpurple0_2.10.0_armel.deb
cdf2125d37ab0880f05f2979c17d1895  telepathy-haze_0.5.0-1_armel.deb
d49d6187fda29ea5d051a5479201e0d0  im-providers-additional-0.2.deb
eff0337a3af7459bb9a10b7ca1ed6c62  im-providers-additional-0.4.deb

Is there anything I missed?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi all,
You can use MSN without installing many python packages, you only need
libpurple0
telepathy-haze

install them using
Code:

dpkg -i libpurple0*
dpkg -i telepathy-haze*

with root

and then add account
Code:

mc-tool add haze/msn $liveid string:account=$liveid string:password=$idpassword
telepathy-haze also support many protocols, such as
haze/icq
haze/yahoo
haze/aim
haze/irc
haze/facebook
haze/gadugadu
haze/qq

I tried haze/icq and haze/msn, you can try other services self.

Enjoy =)

GOD~ PLEASE HELP ME~

I am a Nokia N9 user from Hong Kong. I have tried for haze/qq

Code:

I type it in the form of below:

devel-su
rootme

mc-tool add haze/qq 296991699 string:account=296991699 string:password=chunxxxx

Code:

However, it shown:

mc-tool: org.freedesktop.DBus.GL1b.UnmappedError.McdAccountManagerError.Code0:Failed to set parameter: Protocol QQ not found

What is the problem of it? How can I solve it?
Thx a lot!

Pidgin is working fine!
At least here in my N950 (I believe that in N9 with bt keyboard it will work perfect also), pidgin is working great, and I'm using it.
I'm using it from debian squeeze (running from inside the debian squeeze chroot).

ps: In order to run the chroot command you need to be in Open Mode.
