Yes. Already ported, beta test is almost finished. So yes, next version will support SailfishOS. Just not sure if via Harbour or OpenRepos.net.

Thats awesome :)
I already ceased to hope for it

Dependent on the improvements I might buy the full version and if you decide to make a donationware out of it you will certainly get one.

That's good to hear :-) My N9 unfortunately died a while ago, so I had almost forgotten about this app, but now I got my Jolla and I'm starting to run against the limits of the built-in player.

Just wanted to let you know that version 1.8 of QuasarMX is available for the N9 now. This is also the first version to support SailfishOS.

Download for N9 here: https://www.meteorasoftworks.com
The SailfishOS version is available at Jolla Harbour.

The new Version is great!

>Added a fully programmable Sleep Timer to the tools section;
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=110

My promise is still valid. And seeing you steadily continue development after all this time I will go for the cross platform license.
More features in the future will earn you donations.

Btw: It would be great if you accept Bitcoin as payment. That way you would get more of the money your customer intends to send to you. I will now buy anyway, have waited long enough ;)

oooh. It's like it's my Jolla's birthday ;-) the system update made Android so much more useful, and now I have a proper music player.

Thanks you very much!
Stopping after a certain track is still on my TODO list, same goes for the playback queue which would implement this feature.

Bitcoin and SEPA payments are now accepted in my "app store". :)

The upgrade from the Nokia store version went really smoothly. Well done!

Re: QuasarMX - Awesome music player!

I no longer have my n9, so I couldn't recover my license to upgrade. But then I looked at the price and decided I'd happily pay in full for a cross-platform license, just to support further development ;)

For me too :)
Works very fine, but I have two issues:
1. When changing songs, often I heard some short distortions before song starts. I try disabling and enabling sound options, and don't know when exactly this occurs.
2. Automatic Anti-Clip should works like normalize volume in tracks?

This is caused by either the Policy Kit when acquiring the audio resource or by Pulse Audio when returning from the power saving mode and re-enabling the audio HW. This happens on the N9 and Jolla too. Older versions of QuasarMX also flushed buffers in an asynchronous fashion, which caused glitches ("blips") in the output. This has been fixed in 1.8.

This feature makes sure your settings don't distort the output by adjusting the levels to what is digitally reproduceable, ie. no clipping occurs with Anti-Clip turned on. Though the overall volume might be reduced, depending on how much gain you set in each of the filters.

I am currently implementing a volume balance setting, since this has been requested quite often. I hope to have the NEON optimizations done tonight. With a bit of luck I can get the bugfix release out later this week.

Volume normalization / Replay Gain is planned for some future release.

fos4 2014-07-22 08:29

Thanks for response :)

What do you think about use volume keys to changing songs? Like Media Buttons app.

Just bought the multiplatform licence. Happy to see the best player around also on other devices.

Keep up the good work.

Edit: Where can i give feedback on the android version?

Same here.

A software company that:

-makes great software

-communicates directly with its users

-offers multi-platform support and not only for the top 2 OS'es

-provides extended support by offering upgrade solutions for boycotted platform (Nokia store for Symbian killed by MS)

-can afford to let their users omit the usual 'crappstore' membership requirement and host payment and download possibilities

deserves my support

Please send your feedback to support@meteorasoftworks.com
The Android version is still in heavy development and there are known bugs (that I really should post on the website). That is also why there is no free version available for download yet.
I hope to find some free time during my vacation to finish it.

On some systems I can actually intercept and override the volume key and there is a new feature in one of the next versions that lets you define your own key bindings. Still working on that.

Well, you already emailed me and I answered you that I was looking into the issue. I still can't reproduce it, I can't pin-point it. Can you provide more details?
I haven't received any other reports about crashes.

Quite possibly font and color changes.
However, the main UI will stay the same. That means no layout changes, no functionality changes. This main UI is the same on all supported platforms.
This also means that there will be no pulley menus, because I find them way too limiting, and they don't work well with vertical list views.

QuasarMX supports the MPRIS2 D-Bus Interface since version 1.8. Check it out here:
http://specifications.freedesktop.or...s-spec/latest/

The bus name is org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.quasarmx

Example call:

qdbus org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.quasarmx /org/mpris/MediaPlayer2 org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.Player.Play

qdbus org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.quasarmx /org/mpris/MediaPlayer2 org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.Player.Metadata

Is there any way to get QuasarMX working with sound notification from Marble http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82196?

i tried to add Marble to /etc/pulse/xpolicy.conf as ringtone, but notification from marble is not hearable when Quasar plays music...

Marble would have to implement the resource policy stuff properly. I am not sure which forced profile in xpolicy.conf would work. Nokia Drive works with QuasarMX, so it is possible. Perhaps check with pactl list sink-inputs which policy Nokia Drive has set?

Hi,

Any love for android port? Just saying. A lot of us had to give up our N9s because of lack of support but would love to keep using QuasarMX on Android.

Keep up the good work,

Please provide more details. Device, OS + version, app version?

It this is about SailfishOS, QuasarMX is working fine on the Uitukka pre-release, except for the unlocking of the Pro features. This is caused by a QML bug in Qt 5.2, which is already fixed in Qt 5.3. I am working on a work around to those bugs + a new update.
