Same here, too, with an added "feature": Situations App crashed upon listing the situations.
Several reinstalls fixed, at least the crashing...

Seems like some (or most?) language variants of the index file are corrupted for some reason. Finnish works at least for me though. Investigating...

It is searching for translations too and skipping those missing. Working on a fix.

Aaaand now it should show installed ambiences also (might not show all names correctly, though). Just visit extensions page to update the plugin.

Any plans for making Ambience also a 'trigger' plugin? I am not sure how difficult it is, but it would definitely push ambiences to a whole new level.

Should be doable. In general I've been trying to avoid making conditions & actions that can easily cancel each other. But that may change at some point - not in the immediate future, though.

I think you can switch them if you know what to switch. The problem is that listing the available user-created ambiences is not really possible.

As of now, I could not even find the user-created Ambiences...
I can use dbus to switch to the (pre)installed ones, though.

Anyway, I created some and I put them to the folder the (pre)installed ones are, so Situations App can easily switch them.

Thank you very musch for this great application.

Where one can find the user created ambiances? I know I can use the pre-installed ones as a template and create an ambiance myself in the correct folder so it can be listed, but it is a lot easier to just copy it :)

1. You can use this app to create your own ambience and it will transfer them to the system folder where the official ambiences installed. Situations will see them.
Package includes some example ambiences, that you also can use.

3. I created a few ambiences that I can share but it not allowed on openrepos or other public places because in some of them I use official ringtones from officiall ambiences and don't know what the right source of images (from free web sites)

I managed to create ambiences in the /usr/share/ambience/ folder, and find them in Settings=>Ambiences, but in Situations selection dialog they are shown without a name, just as blank entries. I guess which is which, but it is not that convenient when you have several of them. What could be the solution here?

Yes, all is correct in the files - system finds the ambiences and displays their names. Only Situation application does not display the name - it shows just an empty line when trying to select an ambience. And is not activating this manually created entries.

Closing Situations from homescreen just close the app but leave it in background...

About new plugin in Situations...
Since I have installed it, but not used, I experienced with strange behavior of phone. Once stack and got very slow UI (need reboot) and after this I got twice unexpected reboots in 1-1.5 hours... :eek:
Don't know if it related to the new plugin, but I didn't do nothing with phone in the last 2 days...

It's a very simple plugin, so quite unlikely causing such behavior. But maybe something in the plugin update process could have caused it. But in that case it shouldn't happen again after reboot.

Done - I have sent you the .ambience file and some screenshots. Let me know what additional info you might need to debug.
Checked the permissions - all files(stock and user) in /usr/share/ambience/ have the same permissions.

This morning I also noticed some really nasty laggings on the UI of the phone. After a few seconds it passed and ever since my phone works fine.

Might be the new SFOS release, though... :)

No, the folder is named just "hal9000". But the system finds and uses the given ambience without any problems. The name is displayed just fine as well.
For the sake of exactness I changed "translationCatalog" to match the folder name - still name not displayed by Situations app, just an empty place holder line.

Situations is picky (perhaps too much) about the folder/file names. The folder and .ambience filename need to match currently (they match with all other ambiences I've seen so far). So for now you should either change "hal9000" folder to "hal_9000" - or the other way around.
