Greater than 1Ghz in only certain specific setup hence it's rarely ever run at 1ghz in mobile devices.
As the yield gets better, higher stock speed is more possible. Nokia didn't want to risk it still obviously.

Note that Cortex A8 is a very wide term. From a speed/consumption/overclockability aspect it’s not at all the same if it’s a 45nm or a 65nm fab process. The 3430 uses the older, 65nm process, which TI does in variants up to 800MHz. The GHz and above variants are all 45nm. The interesting thing is that the 3530, which should be basically a twin brother to the 3430 has ben up-specced by TI itself (exactly due to better yields) to 720MHz.

wow, my battery lost 25% charge in about 4 hours before over clocking

Ronaldo try the 800mhz, seems very stable here.

I've yet to see any of the odd behaviour. But if you do experience it, I recommend to flash a slower kernel or stock kernel back in it. Mines running 100% stable @ 1025mhz... well atleast it seems so.

Yes, but mine was idle.. no apps running.

Personally, I have no reason to believe there's been any significant change in the battery usage.
I believe that if more time spent in the higher frequencies, more power will be consumed.

I'm now watching a video stream (Smallville) from surfthechannel[dot]com (the Megavideo links are excellent quality at fullscreen !).

Frequency is at 500Mhz with cpu usage at 60%

i do not expect to have any issues as some of you who game a lot.

i just use it for everything except playing a bunch of games...so the faster it goes, the better for me...just need to be sure it does everything else fast and lock solid.
