Allow me to introduce for your please on my openrepos repository (look in my signature)
Hexedit: hexedit shows a file both in ASCII and in hexadecimal. The file can be a device as the file is not wholly read. You can modify the file and search through it. You have also copy&paste and save to file functions. Truncating or appending to the file is allowed. Modifications are shown in bold. Nmap: Nmap ("Network Mapper") is a free and open source (license) utility for network discovery and security auditing. Many systems and network administrators also find it useful for tasks such as network inventory, managing service upgrade schedules, and monitoring host or service uptime. Nmap uses raw IP packets in novel ways to determine what hosts are available on the network, what services (application name and version) those hosts are offering, what operating systems (and OS versions) they are running, what type of packet filters/firewalls are in use, and dozens of other characteristics. It was designed to rapidly scan large networks, but works fine against single hosts. In addition to the classic command-line Nmap executable, the Nmap suite includes a flexible data transfer, redirection, and debugging tool (Ncat), a utility for comparing scan results (Ndiff), and a packet generation and response analysis tool (Nping). Apache webserver: The Apache HTTP Server Project is a collaborative software development effort aimed at creating a robust, commercial-grade, featureful, and freely-available source code implementation of an HTTP (Web) server. |

Open Garden
Creates a mesh network (and shows you visually what it looks like) between all windows, mac and Android devices nearby and shares internet connections. No root access or USB connection required. Uses GPS and wifi to find other open garden devices nearby to include in mesh network. Official site with windows and mac apps http://opengarden.com/ I just tried it on my HTC One and my refurbished and upgraded dell d630 with a tiny little BT dongle that was originally meant for a tiny wireless KB and it worked. Probably would be nice for you guys using Jolla to have a native client. From the website here is the list of apps that work and don't work with vpn http://forum.opengarden.com/vpn-app-list and their forum http://forum.opengarden.com/discussions |

Re: What Applications would you like to see on Sailfish Devices?
Has anyone tried compiling/packaging mplayer?
It should be possible with mplayer2 or mpv: http://wayland.freedesktop.org/extras.html https://github.com/giselher/mplayer2-wayland Also SMPlayer would be nice to have and it is already Qt5 complatible: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/smplayer-qt5-svn I would look into it myself, if I had more time (exam period...), but while I know how to compile it on the device or in the emulator, I have no idea how to package it for OpenRepos. |
