AVATAR isnt working for me I have tried all the things, I have preenv 1.4 ...when i launch it I see the black screen and then it go back to the main menu

I believe 1.6 is the latest version. Also, have you tried the fixes mentioned in the wiki? http://wiki.maemo.org/Preenv/Game_Compatibility

Other than that, I have no idea.

I tried to get tradewinds 2 to work and its working but at the start of the game a msg saying "error and the game will exit" appears, i thought that maybe caused by some old save file cause i've downloaded the game..here is the contents of the .ipk file after opening it

so, where might be the problem ?

- i've tried deleting TW2Data (same problem)
- Tradewinds2-webos320Res (the game crashed)

The desktop file should be called preenv-com.ea.app.nfsuc.desktop. That is what mine is called anyway but i didn't install from application manager.

Thanks jedi.Btw we,I should also mention that those tricks are getting obsolete as the preenv 0.1.6 fixed most,almost all of them. But still, they won't be erased until the current breakages in preenv 0.1.6 get fixed.After that, the page will be polished.:)
EDIT:On the second thought, I understood that this kind of polishing seems to be aggressive. So I am not willing to touch the wiki for such purpose.
Downloading jflatt's patch may fix the problem as long as I know.If no segfaults appear after that.

I have installed super ko boxing with the script for mapping keys but when I load the the game, it's rotated 180 degres, so I can't use the keyboard....

Crusade of Destiny still misses some textures after applying all patches. Mostly NPC's and some objects. Flipping the screen is built in the game thou, in options (upper left corner of game screen, last panel bottom half).

Jflatt last libsdlpre.so issue on Angry Birds
 

Hello everybody,

I decide to install Preenv 0.1.6 (instead of my previous version 0.1.4) and I put the last version of Jflatt "libsdlpre.so", size 71.9 KB (to play to Galcon, Radiant and Buka). But I discovered an antialiasing issue on Angry Birds (normal and Seasons version).

So I put the "libsdlpre.so" version I have before on Preenv 0.1.4 to fix this issue, size 66.9 KB. And I get back the antialiased result.

Is this behaviour is normal from the last library ?

Yep, IIRC jflatt changed the way textures are scaled in his build; none of my (extras) builds have such change so far.


So far, I only know one regression: the Asphalt 5 music (a game I don't have -- so debug help is welcome; what's so different about it it's only that game failing?).
EDIT: Already received some hints; should be fixed by 0.1.7.

Ok, new 0.1.7 build up, minor stuff:
- PDL_GetDataFilePath
- PDL_Minimize
- Fixed the Asphalt5 music issue.
and a new "feature": you can now tap and hold (for 2-3 seconds) where the task switcher button usually is on the screen in order to, well, task switch :).

As usual, apt-get install preenv to upgrade (or use your favourite package manager).

Thanks for uploading the new version. I like the new feature for task switching.. :)

I still have audio/sound problems with Asphalt 5 (v1.1.4), and the new version showed no difference as compared to 0.1.6 in that regard. On my device, when I start Asphalt 5 there's a blank screen for the intro but the music (or audio from the intro video?) is still there. When I then start the game the sound is gone -- no menu sound, background music or sfx. Anyone else have these problems?

asphalt 5 sound problem is fixed in the new update preenv 0.1.7

Thanks a bunch javispedro -- installed Brain party (via App manager) and now the sound works nicely on Asphalt 5 :)

How did you know it would work? Some library issues that get fixed with those apps? If I uninstall Brain party, will the sound problems reoccur or are they "permanently" fixed?

Well.I should also mention that the music in the settlers also had stopped working. That counts two,right?:p(Now it works,thanks again.)

Failed to load libvorbisidec.so.1 , no such file or directory.
I think I(You) got it. Libvorbisidec1 should be also installed!(Included in the dependencies):)
Anyone having this problem can install the libvorbisidec1(stable) to get the sound working.

gangstar not working. just wait a little bit more.
crusade of dastiny not working anymore. It seems to have a sound problem. this game only works with 0.16(with no sound) that has sound problem. after 0.17 fix it does not work. That means we should work on sound combatibility.

So little stuff has changed between 0.1.6-.7 that I find it surprising anything would break...
