Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Launching from Xterm worked perfectly! :)

No FM Transmitter.
could not autorotate on
Radio Started.
X-Ray Eyes by Guster
One Headlight by The Wallflowers
Landed by Ben Folds
Save Tonight by Eagle-Eye Cherry
Getting next song..
PLAY

So yeah, launching from the App Manager thingy yields....

From there, I can search and junk, just nothing ever shows.

However, launching straight from Xterm gives me this....

Again, if firing this up from App Manager, it definitely appears that I have to log in incorrectly at least one time.

No big deal.

Hopefully it's not something frustrating for you to find where the trouble is on that.

Cheers for the responses Saint!

Thank you again so very much! :D

Well now that doesn't make sense. If you use the icon it doesn't work but if you launch it manually it does?

Are you launching as user or as root?

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

I'm launching as user there chief.

Also, check above since I did a buttload of mistakes and major edits from my last post. :)

I think I've seen before but you have rebooted since re-installing right? Honestly the app manager launch should do the exact same thing as launching it from a terminal. So it's quite perplexing to see a difference like that.

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Yeah, I definitely rebooted since I wasn't getting a PyRadio icon nor was I seeing any black background (I thought that was due to low memory at the time).

But anyway, I have the icon back again. :)

It finally showed up when I clicked on Find Updates to go look for your latest version in the App Manager (though it's not there yet) but not before then.

So yeah, I'm not sure if this will help....

It seems like many of those .py files are not green (this is the extent of my linux knowledge :))

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Those permissions look fine. The only one that needs to be green is pyRadio.py because it's the only one that needs to be executed directly. The rest are simply included for functionality.

Everything looks good man.. I am at a loss for where to go from there. Mayhaps someday I'll build some kind of debugger option or 'view log' that allows you to pull up what you would normally see in a terminal window from the Launcher. Oh well.. at least it's working for you, if a bid weirdly.

Okay... Let's see here.

Launching from Personal Launcher: Good
Launching from Personal Menu: Good
Launching from Xterm: Good
Launching from icon: Squadoosh (I'm logged in, I can do all the fun junk, just nothing ever shows)

Ooh, and hey!

Can you answer my question about the volume?

I just want the loudest setting possible without ever messing with Mediaplayer.

For some reason, it seems like they are both attached to the hip in some weird way.

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

All I can say is I use the built-in sound backend which for N900 is MAFW and for Diablo I think its osso?? So it shares the same backend as the built in media players. In both the N900 and Diablo if you launch the media player with pyradio they will both affect each other.

However you shouldn't need to launch the media player to change sound... you should be able to use the volume rockers because those should raise the volume of the default sound backend.. so I dont really have an answer for that and dont have my N810 readily available for testing this week. Sorry man.

Re: [application] pyRadio (Pandora)

Joy!

So what are the volume rockers?

The way I'm using this now is launching Mediaplayer after this.

Once a song starts to play, I fiddle with the volume on Mediaplayer to get it as loud as possible.

When the next song hits, the volume returns to the way it was so I have to constantly keep going back to Mediaplayer.
