freemangordon, please edit the first post to include a notice that only x86 Linux distributions are supported. Under an aptosid x64 VM, the script was not able to write the contents to the N950 loopback file; whereas it did when i created an additional x86-based VM.

hmm doesn't work for me :( after installation it said that now I can use it after reboot so I did it but when I open camera and try to record anything my phone restarts. I can't even change mode from video to pictures because after that it restarts as well
what is wrong?

@freemangordon:

Can we use Quim Gil exception for redistributing harmattan TI dsp binaries from http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...65&postcount=4 ?

Playing 720p videos on Maemo device is really R&D project :)

I'm installing your patch now. Thank you! :)
I've got a problem before. I can't run the 7z command, it says 7z not found. Then I tried to modify your scripts, I replace several "7z" commands with 7zr" and replace "p7zip-full" package with "p7zip" then, I tried again and it's work!
Is it ok? Or no? I'm still downloading now.

Re: [HOWTO]Watch 720p videos on n900

Okay, I have a question. What is the lowest voltage profile in which I can play/record HD videos flawlessly? I need something that has 600 MHz for all of its steps, something like:
# kernel configuration file generated by /usr/sbin/kernel-config
MINFREQ=500
MAXFREQ=900
FREQS="0:25,90 500:49,500 550:51,600 600:51,600 700:51,600 750:51,600 805:51,600 850:51,600 900:53,600 950:54,500 1000:60,500 1100:72,520 1150:72,520 "
SMARTREFLEX_VDD1=0
SMARTREFLEX_VDD2=0
GOVERNOR=ondemand
IGNORE_NICE_LOAD=0
UP_THRESHOLD=85
SAMPLING_RATE=150000
POWERSAVE_BIAS=0

...but with lower voltages.

N.B. My N900 is HW Rev 2204 so it is one of those few super natural N900s out there, it can handle the lowest of voltages.

Have no clue, why you ask me :p . On the other hand if we can include those binaries in CSSU that would be great (along with transforming KP to community kernel once it is stable enough). TBH I don't believe they will allow us to distribute it, most probably those DSP binaries are not owned by Nokia but by TI/ARICENT

Maybe it is better to ask Nokia/Quim/whoever can answer.

how do you see that it is super natural, meaning it can handle low voltages?
EDIT
nevermind, i figured it out.
Mine is 2204 too, btw
it this command in xterm
cat /proc/cpuinfo

What is the difference between HW - 2204 & 2101 ?
