Oh and I've noticed that it's reproducable when a USB cable is plugged in.

Ok, didn't happen without cable now ;)
Which rootfs should be used with your deb?
When using the 0.5 one from downloads.nitdroid.com it has errors in the init.rc script (it makes a mknode but the nodes already exist for the watchdogs and setprop only requires two arguments) and then that it can't find the tty. You get to a prompt and after some seconds it shuts down (I guess because of the watchdogs).
I'm trying to quote the errors here as I can't find a log with them
Quote:

/sbin/fiasco-do-update not found
mount: no such file or directory
mount: no such file or directory
mknode /mnt/initfs/dev/watchdog
mknode /mnt/initfs/dev/twl4030
runnig init.
105: init :/init.rc setprop requires two arguments

A N D RO I D sh: can't access tty, job control turned off

I said it can be reproduced that way, not that it's the only way it could happen :)
(Anyways, blame Nokia for that).

I only packaged a newer version of that kernel.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

All in all they made a nice phone. I don't blame them :p
I see, it's the kernel with modules. So extracting http://downloads.nitdroid.com/NITDro...0.5-FroYo.tbz2 to partition two should be enough. Maybe my download is damaged. Thank you.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

/sbin/fiasco-do-update not found <-- normal (happens on Ubuntu too)
mount: no such file or directory <-- could be a wrong bootmenu entry, check partition numbers
mount: no such file or directory <-- ^

GPS - cant even be looked at before phone works

my 2.6.28.NIT.02 kernel is overclocking enabled,
and it also has got ondemand power governor, so in theory overclocking is sorted out!

What is left is to check it is really working...

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

@MuhammadAG i tried your recompiled kernel for nitdroid, the .deb thing you posted a few pages back. 8t installed without any errors and now my radio works again... Thanks for that :D

One thing though my Nitdroid is on a bootloop kind of thing. It boots up to the point of the bootscreen nitdroid animation. It shows the animation and then just loops it over and over?

LCD/keyboard backlight support (FroYo).

http://slil.ru/29433557 (lights.nokia.so, md5sum: d32c1949466f48d2b880f171175a31b3)

Copy it to /system/lib/hw. Enjoy!

P. S. Known issue: works after lock/unlock device by power key.

P. P. S. if it wont work, apply changes to init.nokia.rc script from here:
http://gitorious.org/android-n900/ve...f42e3f24.patch

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

i followed these steps on nitdroid.com:
After it has been downloaded, create a new machine in Virtualbox, give it a name, choose Linux -> Other Linux as OS, give it some extra Base memory(Use no less than 512MB, it will be slow otherwise). You should then click the "Storage" settings on the right pane in VirtualBox. Press the CD entry(it should say "Empty" next to it). To the far right you'll see a folder with a green arrow pointing upwards, press it. Then press add and find the downloaded image. Choose 'Select' and then 'OK'.

But when i do add i have to change the file type to all files and then i choose the downloaded ISO file linux mint.

But i get an error:

Resultaat code:
VBOX_E_IPRT_ERROR (0x80BB0005)
Component:
Medium
Interface:
IMedium {1d578f43-5ef1-4415-b556-7592d3ccdc8f}
Callee:
IVirtualBox {3f36e024-7fed-4f20-a02c-9158a82b44e6}

could not get the storage format off the medium c:...........iso

can someone help? steve?

F*** yeah!! Go dj_steve!!

When you guys have new builds, could you please update them here with links like before?
I don't want to install via a script.

dj_steve 2010-07-05 21:52

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

its by no means usable as yet - it detects a signal and that its connected to somethign but thats about it as far as i could test. but its so much cooler just to see those 4 white bars lighting up without the x above them

Haha, at this rate there will be a fully working Froyo port before there is a fully working Meego port on the N900.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

can someone tell me how to reinstall the Titan's kernel which Mobile HotSpot needs. Prev I had Titan's kernel and then I flashed the kernel needed for Nitdroid. or if it is possible to make "Mobile HotSpot" work using this Nitdroid kernel itself, please tell me the procedure.

Thanks
