1. who says all the bugs were missed? see #2 2. yes bugs have been reported and are being worked on I guess you missed the news about 1 firmware update since the 300 phones issued and another coming soon. Bugs aren't fixed overnight, but to assume the crew is not working on them is naive. But then, I get the feeling you're not too concerned with that process, and have another agenda altogether. |

My humble wish is that let the people speak - We do not crusify Jesus but just exchange opinions about Judas. Therefore "This thread should be closed" is not the most effective argument in this particular state of the time. As the captain of Titanic said, "Let the band play as long as they still can have fun!" Also a point of practical concern: If your advice would be followed, all Nokia N900 would be returned - a mess compared to Titanic, or how do you feel? |
Re: N900 - Yes, it sucks.
I can only say one thing about this phone... It is the best phone i ever laid my hands on... And thats after i have had Iphone 3g, HTC Touch Diamond, Nokia N95(beats the first iphone.. lol), and various older ones. I have also tried Alot of the newer touch phones available on the market today, since i had to make an impression on what to get next.. after i tried N900.. i didn't sleep until i got it.
Sure there are features missing atm.. and a few noticeable bugs around... but this being an open source OS and the n900 only being out officially for a couple of weeks, i think we can expect alot of progress within a few months and alot of great additions already... Checking out whats already available for download in extras, testing and devel... its safe to say that in 6 months, available apps for the n900 will be overwhelming.. Even the battery surprised me, the only thing i found draining the battery fast was Wi-Fi.. and that can be fixed by changing the signal strength from 100mW to 10mW.. and you still get the same from your home Wi-Fi. And anyone claiming the n900 is slow and sluggish.. they got a bad unit or need glasses.. mine runs smoother then anything i've seen before... yeah i've seen the crappy iphone 3gs (that dosen't have a physical keyboard, no multitasking, crappy camera and no flash, no customizeable UI, dosen't support widgets or no open developement, no removeable battery) Its just an ipod touch with phone functionality.. nothing more. |

However, what is annoying me is that some people clearly have a defective unit, yet are NOT exchanging it for one that works and are making the assumption that their faulty unit's terrible performance/stability is the typical N900 experience. If you're device does not operate properly. ie poor performance, crashing, rebooting, scrolling is horrible, etc then SWAP IT FOR A NEW ONE!! It's simple enough, if its not working properly exchange the bloody thing. |

I don't even think some of these trolls have devices, just agendas. But I entertain them, too. Trolls gotta eat, too. Here's a sandbag sandwich, ya hoser!
