To be honest... the N900 is out. You can buy it in Italy in France and Finland... so it's not a real lie...

The lie was the reason they stated or in this case did not mention. IE the reason the N900 has been delayed is pureley because of an incompatibility with one networks SIM 3. They are not even carrying the phone in most countries.

They lied in the US with that press release yesterday.. nokia flagship stores do not have the n900 and they claim they are shipping out preoders yet no one that ordered from nokiausa have any confirmation. They just made up some bs for the masses to make everyone think they are on top of it but we all know better. Shame on you Nokia!

Just talked to an Amazon manager, she stated for people who pre-ordered the phone, if you call in and tell them about the rebate and how you won't get it because the pre-order date shows up on the invoice, Amazon will cancel your previous order and place a new one, but still honor your locked in price so this way you get the rebate. However you will be at the back of the line for shipping.



** She just called me back and said they have the devices and will start shipping either tomorrow or Monday at the latest and should have enough product if I want to cancel my first order and replace it.

Can you tell me the name of the manager, or how you contacted him/her (email or phone) .. ? I would like the verify this too .. If the same news is confirmed from multiple communication routes, then its likely to be true :)

I was not a lie, but directed at the wrong audience. It was directed to consumers, but probably should have been to their channel partners and being a CEO, he probably did not make the connection ;) If he came from marketing, this could explain their mentally challenged approach to this whole thing ;)

Us lowly, common consumers probably should have got the note NEXT week ;)

BTW, unless some slip through, only Nokia direct channels will see any units before December. Dell is probably December too.

Tanisha was her name, managers don't have a direct number. You just have to call Amazon's main number and ask for her by name or any other manager who should verify the stock for you and the price lock.

Newegg's CSR says newegg isn't lifting a finger to do anything n900 related until 11/30. Not anymore credible than anything else here but I figured I would stir the pot.

I think Amazon is Nokia's prime, preferred e-tailer as per their release announcements the other day. It would make sense that Amazon get's it first, behind NokiaUSA.

People in response to the delay devices due to 3 network, Did you know how Hutchinson 3 (3g) work. When they setup their operator they had to partner with another operator usually the best coverage to cater for the GSM part of the network. So in actual fact 3 is just an umbrella of networks in one. Take UK for instance 3g roaming on the 3 is via the 3 network however, if the device drops to 2g e.g. GSM, Hutchinson 3 would have to pay roaming changes to their partnered operater. So if any on you want to screw with 3 and pout them out of business use only 2g network. This only hearsay but this is what I have heard in the industry that I am working in.....

This also coincides with the different type of SIM that 3 uses.

Well tomorrow is the day after today but the problem is that the day after today is tomorrow and tomorrow there is a day after so the day after tomorrow will be tomorrow to so it should be in the next couple of tomorrows

We all just need to wait till tomorrow, if all this is true! Im hoping to wake up, check my email while drinking coffee and see a mail from Nokia stating my phone has been sent :)
Then I will open web browser, head to these threads and see many posts from our Italian friends with phones in their hands.

It is a beautiful setting, so dont ruin it ;)

Just called Nokia NYC FS again... they put me on a callback list. they said hopefully before thanksgiving for stock (for non-preorders).

Ugh, I called Amazon twice and spoke to three people including a "lead". No, they are unable to change my order date to after the 15th so I am eligible for the rebate, nor do they have any info on the N900 shipments. I mentioned the manager Tanisha by name, and the gentleman on the other end acknowledged her, but said he did not have the authority to forward to me anyone but his lead, and the lead was just as useless. Ahh well, it was worth a shot. :) Hopefully the info on the Amazon preorders shipping within the next day or so is true there, I'll take the $50 hit if I can get it before Turkey Day.

Well atleast here preorder sequence was clear. They promised to send email before delivery will be done. And now this EMAIL arrived. Everything goes as promised. Well, anyway... tomorrow... is now today. Have a nice Friday. I will.

The CSR said it will have the date it is charged and not our pre-order date. If this is true then I'll be somewhat thankful.

For everyone concerned about the invoice date: Nokia doesn't ask for your receipt/invoice.

The rebate requires only your bar code from the box and your new Ovi username. There's a blank to fill in the purchase date, so just enter your ship date.
