I just read the upgrade will actually be to opensolaris 2010.03.

I guess it may be a long wait indeed for the update.

I know what git, repo and what madde is, but it has relevance what to this thread? And what did you mean anyway?
Did you try to express that you would like to have a git repo of madde, or that madde itself has been updated? Makes just as much sense as saying "canneloni lasagna of proscutto" without any context, dammit.

I just want PR1.2 to be released so I can stop checking into talk.maemo.org.

People seem to have stopped developing themes for the N900. All new apps are geared towards PR1.2, and IF they are backwards compatible, they require full updates to the libraries. The whole system is a mess.

Just release the damn thing. Short of user data loss, any future bug can be fixed with small patches rather than this huge update that's taking forever to debug.

Unless this "catastrophic bug" that may or may not exist is tied to locale, I don't think there can be one. They are installing PR1.2 on phones now (it seems) for the Hong Kong release this weekend. This is a purely political/business delay to try to show "new features" (in Maemo-speak this seems to be bug fixes) in Hong Kong.

RELEASE IT ALREADY. And PLEASE dump the giant firmware updates. Just do smaller weekly drops or individual package updates as appropriate for bug fixes. Hopefully these practices aren't some the Maemo that is working its way into Meego.
