Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

Mine has arrived too. 64 GB + Lastucase.
The Tablet is really nice, but I don't know what happend to the Lastucase. There are brownish paint sprinkles all over the socket. One magnet is already out of place. And one of the wood panels was completely misplaced.

The tablet itself is as I told you nice, but I had massive problems with Alien Dalvik. There were always messages, that the Ui doesn't work properly. I updated now to 2.0.1.7 and hope that these problems are gone.

It would be nice, if there will be some nice native games coming for the tablet. I just ordered it in the past to support Jolla - I've never seen a true reason for a tablet. Now it will be mainly a little surf machine for the sofa and a remote control for kodi. I have to see for what else I can really use it.

Re: The Future of Jolla's Tablet

My case also shows those sprinkles and it smells musty, maybe it got a bit humid? They didn't seem to put Silica Gel into the box, I suppose they didn't expect it to be stored in the warehouse that long...
I'll try to clean it and wait some days if it gets better, if not I'll order a fresh case from Lastu since it's pretty nice and they seem to need some support anyway.

About Alien Dalvik: No stability problems (but upgrading to 2.0.1.7 was the first thing I did), I had to manually change the Android language to German though (as explained in https://together.jolla.com/question/...guage-problem/ ). And I don't see an icon for my installed Netflix app, workaround see https://together.jolla.com/question/...-netflix-icon/

These sprinkles are absolutely normal... nothing to worry about.

If you check their website (http://lastucase.com/jolla-tablet-ca...ase-cover.html) and look closely on the pictures, you will see the sprinkles there, too.

Holly crap, you are right. It seems to be part of the design. But to be honest, that looks ugly. It looks like there is mud on the case. :(

Yep, my first thought, too :)
Maybe it's some special material? Something biodegradable maybe :D

I suggest that you dont bother trying to install or run anything until you have gone through all the OS updates -

I have 32GB Chinese import, - can some one please come up with a good name? and I think I had two large updates and then a small one and then a big final one. you dont have to do ALL of them to get to the lastest build

From Lastucase site that you linked:

Quote:

There is small dots on black cover because in part it’s made from wood, so it’s normal for this product.
From http://lastucase.com/jolla-tablet-ca...over-skin.html :

Quote:

Black wood composite cover part is made from pine fabric. You can even smell a little resin on it that comes from finnish forests. There is small dots on black cover because in part it’s made from wood, so it’s normal for this product.
I think I read somewhere that this case is the first tablet case in world where is used composite wood for cover. (?) :)
