I don't own a TV and have never seen any real use for it. I have already saved a couple thousand dollars by never having to upgrade them either. :) It has even the benefit of not having the need for renting a flat with big living room to fit the TV in it.

yup...
only point to a flat screen big or otherwise...is as a monitor for the comp...and streaming of course...
it is nice to save room by putting one on the wall or shelf...that is the only bonus...
projectors now have come a long way too...

Considering my recent outburst about similar 5h!t on phones, one might assume that I would jump on the bandwagon and agree with you. Not so. Notice that the screen is 70 inches. That's 178 cm, or 155 x 87 cm and "only" about 126 dpi in the vertical dimension.

Not that you would ever appreciate it from the 5 m viewing distance you need to take it all in your field of view, so I take your point about the questionable usefulness, but it is nowhere near as crazy as some super-mega-ultra-high-res screens that come with some phones.

How I wish I could do just the same! Sadly, my kids would never agree to that! :D

I can make a prediction they will gradually be weaned off it, and take on "other intrests".
And you sure as hell will miss tha time the kids were harmlessly glued to the screen watching tiny toons or whatever :D

No need of root for theming? well, it's good. But the purpose in rooting a phone is to have total access and control of all of it, themes included. I think rooting to access and modify /etc/hosts file to block ads sites and access to sites without using an external dns server. Other purposes are being able to acess to terminal and run bash scripts. And many others purposes.

You never know. They've jammed a ton of features in the Mate 10. The technology and AI capabilities is getting scary! Speaking of jamming, I did test out a couple of guitars today!

what I dont understand is why they put the screen on the backside and the fingerprint sensor on the front side. should obviously bevon the same side.
