@rebhana
I can't get norwegian layout in lxde. When I set "setxkbmap no"
I still get english layout.
Thats not a big problem for me, but I don't understand why it shouldn't work.....

In /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/nokia_vndr/rx-51, if that file is actually used, there is no xkb_symbols "no", but there is "dano" and "nordic".

Hi all,

I've just uploaded a new version of easy-chroot to extras-devel, and I've promoted it to Extras-testing.

This version adds a workaround for the broken Fremantle fuser, so your "closechroot" command should actually close the chroot.

I've installed and tested it, and it indeed killed xmaxima running in the background when doing closechroot.

While testing it, I had an issue that I've encountered sporadically before: with LXDE running, hitting the power button brings up the menu, but then touching either outside or inside the menu nothing happens. The only thing that I can then do is long-press the power button and thus reboot. Going through the same steps again, I couldn't repeat it. I haven't seen this behavior with the initial release of Easy Debian to Extras, but since this problem happens rather rarely for me, that may not mean much. Anyone else having experienced that?

EDIT: Involuntarily I did more testing of the new closechroot and I found that I get the same error people were reporting previously, namely that USB mass storage does not work before rebooting. Actually, it was the first time that I was using USB at all because my WLAN connection was so bad today when I wanted to transfer a big file from my PC to the N900.:rolleyes:

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing

Thanks qole for the ED (Easy Debian). I have manage to install CUPS. At one time I was able to see the network printers by lpstat -a command. The next time I did it (after logging out) I get a message "no file destination" What is going on?

I might add that I was able to install SAMBA by chroot and everything installed fine. I just do not know how to use it yet. Inside ED. Any suggestions on this ?

@rebhana
I tried both dano and nordic, but no difference....

If you wan't a correct df output you can run this as root on meamo after running debbie (so that debbie is mounted):

cat /etc/mtab|grep .debian|sed s/.debian//|sed s/\\/\\//\\// >/.debian/etc/mtab

When I did a new synchroot my keyboard worked with xkbset dano, but I also have the same up and down problem.......

If you've installed the full cups system as opposed to just cups-client you need to restart the cups server when starting chroot anew. See http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian for how to automate that.

EDIT: I've added some information to http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian regarding how to configure cups-client in the absence of a full cups installation.

Re: Easy Debian Fremantle Beta Testing

rebhana: so you are saying that even after closing Easy Debian with the new closechroot, you can't access the MyDocs partition via USB?

I'll need some output. Like "df -h"

@qole
I get an errormessage when running /usr/bin/xe/usr/bin/xephwm5: "line 12: trl: command not foundphwm5"

This is line 12:
zenity --display=:0 --info --text="Welcome to Easy Debian LXDE. This window is needed to gain keyboard focus in LXDE. Click OK." &trl -l

What is the trl command supposed to do?
