Hey guys, I need some help.

-I installed psx4m and psx4m gui.
-copied scph1001.bin on top MyDocs
-loaded a .bin game onto MyDocs
-Click on game and pressed "Start"

psx4m closes and nothing happens. am i forgetting something? did i miss a step somewhere?

it happenes to me only with bugs bunny cause that game doesn't work, maybe your game doesn't work with the emulator too

hope you dont mind if ask a few stupid questions?

what exactly is the cycle multiplier?

does it let the emulatitet psx cpu skip instructions?
or does it kind of overclock the emulated psx cpu?
do we geht those grafik glichtes when using cycle multiplier cause the psx cpu and gpu arent in sync anymore?

i'm not exactly sure what is cyclemultiplier is =) as i read somewhere in sources it's multiplier cause to make more that one instruction at time (and if no hard gpu load at this it will make emu faster)
it doesn't skip instruction or emu will crash all games =)
we get graphical issues due to frameskip, not cyclemultiplier (for me it's 100% true)

Is there any game that is truely playable though?

I have tried several and not much joy with any of them.

The problem is that you need to hear the speech and with some not having subtitles available you have not got a clue what is going on. Thinking Dino Crisis here.

Is there a list of games that run smooth with good speech ( or where none is required )

There is the Team 16 site but that states Silent Hill runs fine and my main sprite disappears on mine!

i've tried GTA 1 , resident evil 3 , FF7 on cycle multiplier 3 they are all excellent as if you are playing with your ps1
crash 3 , crash team racing on cycle 2 - frame rate 2 overclocking to 950 working fine but not perfect

Final Fantasy 7 is working fine on Emulator. My question is, will it be possible to play Final Fantasy 8 on the N900? Newer graphics make it more dificult to handle it. But is there a chance?

AgogData yea that one. Did you finished it? I can't pass the "pipe" thing because of glitches. Maybe turning the fs off helped...

I´ve had a question to Filnal Fantasy again. I begann playing now (Thx to Magik and AgogData) But does the cd change also his job? or am I only able to play the first cd?:P

ok so 1 year on and we are still struggling to get games to run smoothly or at all........whats happened with this? Has this project been abondoned I take it?

apologies everyone but i didnt feel like reading up over 200 pages just to see if it is working as I last checked on here maybe a couple months ago and was reported there still are issues. If there are any decent working games then is there a list made up so we can check?

If I was able to then I would most certainly help develop but I don't have the skills for programming/development.

Hmm maybe bonapart needs to create a seperate thread so he can manage to update it everytime. Anyways here's a little compatibility list made by bonapart and others for the latest psx4m...

I don't know if it is only my case, but don't bother playing Baldur's Gate.
When you get Imoen(or as I assume other NPC) in your party game save corrupts and you can't load your game.

Save states seem to work fine tho, but I don't know if you can trust them in long game and what about changing the CDs? :/

magik you were right, crash 3 at the pipe crash just disappear and he is under the soil. crash 3 is great @ 1000 Mhz - FR 2 - cycle 1.
btw tried jackie chan stuntmaster and it freezed at Midway logo

Why would you play Baldur's Gate through psx4all, when you can run the PC version of Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, Planescape torment and Icewind dale, through gemRB on your n900, with full audio support, high resolution and no stuttering/lag? :) dosent make sense to me

mthmob did you try to play it? :p Gemrb needs more tweaks. Bg1, Bg2 and other infinity engine games are too bugged to be finished. ... and no right click=wizards are useless, because they can't learn spells.
Apart from that I would like to try and finish psx version just because I'm curious :)

EDIT:
On PC emulator there's the same bug. You can't start the game after first save... well it's a unreleased version so I'm not mad at it :D
