What do the Android app developers need to do get their apps run on Jolla devices / devices based on the Sailfish OS?

Many Android(TM) applications will run on Jolla devices unchanged (Android is a trademark of Google Inc.). If you want to take advantage of all UI and other features of Sailfish OS and make yourapplications fast, you can port your applications to native QT/QML. There are extensive guides available on how to do that.

No.

Will Sailfish SDK be available for Linux and Windows?

Yes Sailfish SDK is based on QtCreator and will be available in Windows, Linux and OSX.

Techcrunch has brand new Jolla interview.

http://techcrunch.com/2012/11/21/jolla-meego-sailfish/

EDIT:
"Pienimaki gave me a look at the Sailfish OS. Like Windows’ interface and Android, it has a number of tiles or widgets that can pull up contacts or messages. You unlock the phone by swiping upwards and notifications are discreetly hidden in the top right-hand corner.

“It’s done in a way that so that your notifications are private and no one can see them directly on your phone’s screen,” Pienimaki said. The OS also emphasizes multitasking with the ability to peek into other applications through these widgets. You can also change the look and the feel of the UI with different photos from your library.

The company should have a video up shortly, which I’ll add (because that’s probably a better explanation of how Sailfish looks and feels than I can put in words).

Pienimaki says that while Sailfish can support tablets, smart TVs, cars and other kinds of devices, Jolla will be a smartphone company first and foremost.

“The sailfish operating system is very scalable and we have ported it to many form factors, but we are mainly a smartphone company,” he said."

Yep & will continue to do so, it's a fast moving thread, so it makes sense to repeat once in a while.

Nope...See below:

When will Sailfish SDK be available?

The version presented at Slush will be available very soon. In the meantime you can follow the steps on the merproject.org page and build most of the SDK yourself.

Jolla's mentions support for ST-Ericsson's NovaThor platform.

Phones that already use that platform are Samsung Galaxy S III mini and HTC Sensation Z710t .

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NovaThor

CPUs are from 1Ghz dualcore A9 - 2,5Ghz Dual core A15.

Looking at the livestream site, it doesn't seem like it's possible to go back earlier than the current session.
It was roughly only about 6mins long IIRC, there's a much longer demo coming, plus there's the link thedead provided.

I do like the UI, it has improved swipe and it seems to have WP tile looking thing but their actually properly interactive which is nice.

Overall i do like it!

Re: JollaMobile : Jolla continues Nokia's excellent work on #MeeGo based smartphones

I'm sceptical, where's the notification center? The swipe they use to minimize the app seems to be inside the screen, so what about in app horizontal scrolling? The main screen has only the 4 recently used apps, I guess the rest continues to run in the background. I can live with that if the app menu is so easily accessible (on the n9 i always keep the number of running apps at <=4, because if you have to scroll in the multitasking view you're often faster using the icon).

So right now I wonder what is to the left or right of the multitasking/app launcher screen...

My thoughts too; the left and right seem too oblivious to be nothing; maybe they are saving it up for the 1500GMT demo?

Notification centre and swipe to peek are my favourites on the n9...I'm not a fan of those icons they have too but guess that is a minor hiccup...

The left one is for email. The right one is for finnish postal code. Propably has to be formatted correctly. Try mine, 02210.
