Just a confirm that I got 720p recording working on rev 2101.
I have KP49 installed, latest CSSU, the camera-ui2 for HD and the 720p debs that went live yesterday.
I modified the dsp profile to limits 250 850.
The only issue I got is that when I record I get some lagg/stuttering in the picture of what Im recording but non of that is recorded, the recording is laggfree. That I can live with.

Thanks guys, N900 it still the most complete phone on the market :)

i have no problem recording too, the only problem i have is playing 720p videos

i did as the first post said.rebooted.loaded the dsp profile with kernel-config load dsp.
but 720p video playback is very laggy still.what to do?

If the video is h264 main/high profile nothing can be done, DSP is not powerful enough to play those.

i downloaded i video via cutetube and set the quality 720p. it plays but very laggy.so where to download 720p video for testing in N900?

finally decided to try this...the result...awsome!!!...cant tk u enough!

PS-by the way, i installed and rebooted and then i did an apt-get upgrade, 3 files showed up for upgrade, one of them was camera-ui...i should ignore this right?

I tried latest update. I can't play any video! It says unsupported format on every video. DSP profile not help. Using kp49.

most of the youtube videos are encoded in high profile cabac format i.e hp h264 in mp4 container...n900's dsp is not enough powerful to decode them (it can only decode baseline profile h264 videos)...

if u wanna try playing 720p hd video on n900, either decode it into baseline profile or for testing u can simply use n900's own camera with settings set at hd...it encodes video in baseline profile..

After latest CSSU update apt-get upgrade tries to upgrade debs from here. To prevent this, type as root:
