I can't find a single trace of it. I'm not so sure I want to place another preorder because I might get charged twice.

That bites, call em up tomorrow. Use that as an excuse to pump them for info about what and when things will happen. Since you're now worried about when you'll get the phone starting over in the queue.

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Well, no one is available at this hour.
And I'm still hoping they would send me the phone tomorrow if they get it, lol. That's why I'm in a dilemma if I should make another preorder or not.

Should I just make another preorder right now and then just call them up tomorrow to see what happens?

If you run your order number in the status it doesnt show anything?

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Nope, nothing at all.

Now I'm going through a even more severe problem. I just made another preorder, that is not even showing up!!! Not sure I should be happy or not for this because it could mean something is just wrong with Newegg's order viewing page. But if that is true, that mean I have two orders up and no way to cancel them, at least for now that is. If they decide to ship the phone tomorrow(if the they receive stock), I'm pretty much what you call a nail with spirals on it.

There is no indication anywhere that they are shipping tomorrow. I think if they were, CC's would have been hit already.

Well, I'm just saying if. The problem is, if there's just an issue with their order page, I have literally two orders for them, and I can only pay for 1. The thing is, "if", I said "if" they ship tomorrow, and some how miraculously both are shipped out, yea, you know what's the term to describe me.

Yep.

I think it was a "teaser" release spawned by angry online comments, calls and emails over Nokia´s misfortunate PR.

Yeah.. especially since you can't return devices to Newegg, only exchange for a defective product (I wouldn't risk buying two). But Newegg takes a while to charge cards like I said, it's a good and bad thing (annoying when you want the damn thing but good that they are careful enough to make sure someone didn't steal your credit card and began charging things on it).

They won't even let you specify an alternate shipping address from your credit card billing address. If you want to send it somewhere else (like when I was in college living in a dorm) then you had to call the bank and tell them to do a temporary billing address.

You could be right! It seems to have worked! Look how quiet it is right now. The whole Planet just took a Valium.

Except me. I saw the guy who got it in NYC and am now more Rabid! I want mine! I don't want to see pictures of his!

Well, if I only had one preorder, it's definitely a lottery I would love to win. Now I'm actually happy there's a delay, and hope it would at least continue till I can solve this issue.

I have no idea what you're talking about. The past 6 years I've been with Newegg, they always charge my card the moment my order is processed, usually within 2 hours I place my order if it's during working hour. Last time I made an order over $2000(part of my new pc here :D), it only took them one hour to process. Also, they've always allowed me to ship it to an alternate shipping address.

I've shipped mine to different addresses. I have multiple addresses in my NewEgg account.

I should have caught that when he said it. Yes, there are orders and Pre-orders and they are separate. First time I went looking for it I couldn't find it.

I guess it's a credit card dependent? For my gf (on her CC) and my CC VISA calls us whenever there's a big order on Newegg. As for the shipping thing, I've always had trouble getting them to ship to a dorm room or her apartment (as was the case for her laptop) on big purchases too.

I wonder why it's so different..

Thanks for your help, but my preorder have always been on the "Preordered/Backordered" page. The thing is, it's gone now, it's not on that page anymore, I've also check the order status, and the highly unlikely order history, but nothing. Basically my order has disappeared into thin air. The same goes for my newly place preorder.

Haha this is insane, Amazon dropped price to $529.99! Whatever, I cancelled my previous order with them and just re-ordered it so I can get the rebate as well. I don't care if I have to wait until end of December, for that price/deal, it's worth it.

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

Nokia N900 down to $480 @ Amazon USA http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...SIN=B002OB49SW

Those who missed the debate because ordering before, you may want to cancel the order and reorder to get a better price.
It'll be a wait but worthed.

Exactly! $50 is like an extra battery, or my Nokia portable charging station...

He's talking about the rebate. Right now the price is $529 on Amazon then when you subtract the mail-in-rebate it goes down to $479 however you can only get that rebate if your invoice shows you purchased it between Nov 16 and Dec 31 and Amazon has already stated the invoice will show the date that you pre-ordered it, hence we won't be eligible for the rebate.

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

can't the $50 rebate be used on any n900? the rebate form seems to be specific only to nokia, it doesn't mention Amazon or anything.

bought meaning preordered, or when the card is charged? I just got off the phone with amazon and they said my order would be price matched and I would also get the rebate

Why should rebate be only applied between Nov 16 - Dec 31...isn't that kind of stupid. It should apply anytime up to Dec 31. Obviously they never release the phone until Nov 16. This means people who purchase it early get no rebate because they purchase early?? This don't make sense. I can understand if you purchase after Dec 31, then you don't get rebate. But those who purchase it early even BEFORE the rebate form is EVEN INVENTED...they should be treated with rebate with the utmost priority. Think about it?? This is sooo wrong and illogical!!

I don't think it will really be an issue.

In the summer rebate program I submitted an invoice that didn't even have my name on it and it was accepted fine. (It was from the NokiaUSA four hour sale, and I wasn't able to order for myself at the time)

Moreover, the form doesn't state that a receipt need be submitted, therefore I will not submit an invoice or receipt. Additionally, in my experience if one's rebate submission is declined, calling them always results in the rebate being sent, probably because they don't want to waste the time to figure out whether you're actually eligible.

(Note, I'm not encouraging rebate fraud, I'm encouraging those whose phones are shipped after the 16th to claim the rebate for which they are eligible)

Edited to add: I just checked, Amazon invoices clearly indicate the ship date..in much larger letters than the "order placed" date.

No, you'll only get it if you ordered between Nov.16 and Dec.31. If you pre-ordered before Nov.16, then that date will show up on your invoice and not the actual date in which your card is charged and the item shipped.

Just go back like 15 pages and you'll see we already went over this in great detail.

Actually it does Einstein. It says it directly under the four sub-itemized required things to do.

'Please keep a copy of your submission for your records. Mail-In Form, dated store receipt and UPC/barcode panel must be postmarked by January 8, 2010 and received no
later than January 15, 2010. Submissions postmarked after January 8, 2010 or received after January 15, 2010 will not be accepted and are void.'

It also says it to the right in the fine print.

Also it doesn't matter if it say's the ship date or not...seriously learn to read the details. It clearly state's 'purchased', not shipped--if you purchased between Nov.16 - Dec.31. Jesus people stop being lazy and go back like 15 pages and skim through them and you'll get all your answers. Upper left hand side of your invoice...oh look...'Ordered Date'

You can be condescending, but the form says quite clearly directly below the items they ask for in large print:

"If any of the above items are not mailed in their entirety, your submission will not be processed."

Their failure to update their boilerplate does not place a burden on the submitter to include an item not required.

Besides, if you mail in early you can correct the supposed "deficiency" prior to the deadline.

Even if there was such a requirement, Amazon's invoices do include both an "order date" (in small print) and a "ship date" (in large print). Which one do you think the minimum wage mail-opener is going to look at (especially if you circle it ;))?

My point is that the rebate form has no language on it which requires the submission of a receipt. Moreover, the form specifically states Requires purchase of a new, eligible Nokia N97, Nokia N900, Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, or Nokia 5530 XpressMusic (Games Edition) device between November 16, 2009 and December 31, 2009.

You purchase something when you pay for it. The form also contains no language limiting when the device is ordered, only when it is purchased..

If you want to get into a tizzy, be my guest, but the plain language of the form says you get the rebate, even if you choose to submit a receipt despite there being no request or demand for said receipt.

Edited to add: I guess we'll see how it works out in 10 weeks or so.
