ok, try unmount -a then mount again,

edit : also if after that you get a issue try to reboot the n900 and try mounting, some times i have issues remounting partitions until i reboot

i did umount -a it worked (i think)

tried to mount again with the 2 possibilities but still the same response

does anyone know if you are on the original (maemo stock) kernel, if ext partitions cant be mounted? that may be nielsvg's problem.

Most likely a second partition doesn't exist.

when i go the file manager i can access the mem card and see the backup map

so autoinstaller didnt work??

When I try to extract the new rootfs it gives me this error... tar: invalid tar magic.

Mount your memory stick
delete whats inside /and
and extract the new rootfs in /and

dont need to do much else just to update this :)

apt-get install bzip2 tar

OK solution is:

rename the file to .tar.bz2

then

bunzip2 the file before using the tar-command

I'm following the instructions from http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=2142

once i select android in the bootmenu it gets to "loading module vfat" then it spits out "not found" and reboots. any ideas?

Try another bootoption number in the bootmenu... Number 4 works for me and others it's number 3.. Mine is called something like MMC p2 ;)

WiFi still does not work for me, auto rotate does work.
My bootscreen is gone...

My wifi also does not work with the new rootfs.
