But anyway, I believe that the first ones to pre-order (direct from Nokia) will get their devices at the end of the month and the rest will start getting theirs from the beginning of the next month.

Polish e-shop Vobis.pl says the end of november like many others from many countries, so I think it's true :D:D

While their order site was saying end of october at the phone they where saying mid november. NOw their site is end of november they will soon say mid december.

Eesh, if that is the case Nokia just guaranteed the next time it comes to get a new device in 4-5 years it won't be Nokia regardless of the benefits of the Maemo platform. Besides if Maemo is any good Android and the others are sure to take notice and retool themselves to absorb Maemo's benefits anyway.

Ah, I want to play it (finishing the last airplane mission on Vet) was fun. Though I thought Rainbow Six Vegas on realistic was harder. Let me know if they took out those annoying infinite respawns (they said they would).

Since, as far as I'm aware, the ARM processors are still 32 bit designs the N900 is presumably going to go horribly wrong in 2038, so Nokia had better hurry up with this release.

Couple days ago, was going to work. A woman came on the train and start screaming "people Jesus is coming soon"... After a couple of seconds I am like, aga Nokia N900 is coming soon.

Nokia have just announced the N900 is actually an April Fool joke, and is not actually real...
The announcement was originally to be made on April 1st 2009, but was delayed due to Nokia being the jokers they are.

Today, I went to the Flagship store here in Chicago after work and decided I too wanted to finally see in PERSON what I preordered a while ago. So I asked if they had one and they said "No, they're not out yet", and I said I meant a demo unit, and still, didn't have one.
BUT! The intriguing thing? The employee took an N900 out of his pocket and said "well, this is my personal one, but you can play with it for a minute, just don't go through my contacts or texts or anything"
And I LOVED it. It was everything I wanted, in such a short playaround. Everything felt crisp, snappy, and the size was actually really nice.
..Then, the bad news. I asked about a release. First he said "tomorrow", then felt really bad when my eyes lit up and said "..kidding. HOPEFULLY within two weeks. But to be honest man, they won't give us a date because they don't want us calling and *****ing them out when we don't have any phones by the date they promised us. Just keep your fingers crossed, man. It's all you can hope for right now"..
they don't even have a hard date here in the US, or at least won't tell me. And he said two weeks, hopefully :(
I know it'll be worth it, but damn it I want it nowww!

That's quite weird, even the Flagship store in NYC has it. My first visit there was around mid October, so I would assume they had it for a while already.

To be honest, I've been there for about 4 times because I was getting restless and was trying out new stuff that I read about. Ironically, the one in NYC doesn't seem to have hover mode.

Yep. I also heard there is misunderstanding about the announced release date. The head of the Nokia apparently aren't good with English so the translator misunderstood him and thought the release date is this year....Nov...but it's actually Nov next year.

If that is the case, Then its a stupid strategy which has achieved nothing but put nokia in bad press and made them to lose customers. This whole N900 fisaco puts to question nokia's credibility and ability to deliver and puts a question mark on the N900. After the N900 was announced, The Droid, The Droid Eris and HTC HD2 were all announced and all have been released. The Nokia N900 is only been waited for by Nokia's /Maemo strong believers (The very people Nokia is calling Ridiculous ) everyone who just wanted the next iPhone killer has gone for an android device. The Fact that Nokia can.t even come out to give us updates on the status of the phone, or even commit to a release schedule (beside we would release when its ready) tells that something somewhere is not right with the device, and i doubt its a software problem. I pre-ordered the phone in September hoping to have something for before xmass, now the chances of that happening is very slim. As it is we don't even know when this thing is expected to release (This month, Next month, January? ) to be frank I have completely lost confident in Nokia's ability to deliver. And their handling of their core customers leaves much to be desired. I think the iphone and anything built on java sucks, But being taking for granted sucks more

i was actually surprised when seeing a nokia employee on a public forum like this.

i do not know who came up with the idea that it is weird of nokia not to comment here but whoever started it is probably 12 year old.

or has a mental age of 12. (18 with iq of 66.) or 8 with an iq of 150 :P

so for whoever here is so damn certain he or she is never gonna be president and is never able to give a speech anywhere else and therefor starts speeching here, get the fsck out of here i am not looking for speeches, i am just hoping to see the first 'yes i got it' post.

I guess for the meantime this is as official of a release date that you guys are gonna get.
Went to nokia.fi store to horse around and they added info on the description that shipping starts week 48 (end of the month)...

Thank me when the phone has arrived cos I'm still doubtful =/

Nokia Finland has now information that they will post preordered devices at week 48 to those who has ordered it from Finland. My n900 comes later than that :(, i hope you guys get your device earlier :)
