If Jolla had gone bankrupt the other day you'd have seen nothing. Now you see some people getting tablets and some getting refunds and some still waiting, where is the problem with that? You spent money for a useless gadget (yes, tablets are useless gadgets!) and now you are all on the rails cause of a couple of hundred bucks?! You spent more time discussing, blaming, shitstorming about it than the tablet is even worth, even if you find a job that pays less than 1€/h!

My 2c!

I think everyone is calm :D

And it's not the money thing that has ever annoyed me, but the lies! Jolla has come out with so much bull **** in the last year that they don't deserve my contribution/donation/hardearnedpennies.

FYI, I just received my 1/2 refund. So Jolla is definitely working its way down the list (I think I was somewhere in the 2000s or so, if I recall correctly).

Imagine a lonesome Jolla employee sitting in a small chamber proceeding refund after refund manually

If they produced and packed the tablets the same way it's crystal clear why only so few were finally send out ...

On the other hand that slows down life and gives us time to relax and spend time in exceptional threads like this one

Well, our money is still stuck in pending. Why? Do I have to do something in PayPal or can I blame Jolla?

Also the original blog post:

" Due to the financial constraints this will happen in two parts: half of the refund will be done during Q1/2016, and the other half within a year, our financial situation permitting."

Interesting. Does the second half of May count as Q1 in Jollaland?

Plus, why wait until you run out of money ;)

Absolutely! It makes much more sense to make sure you run out of it right now!
That's what you meant, right?

Knowing you, you will blame the Pope but all you need is a little patience. It takes time to beam money to the Moon. Or to some Eastern European countries. The last time I sent money to Russia by PayPal it was stuck in 'pending' for over a week but it arrived eventually.

All talk about scam and other angry things aside... my question is what will folks go to next?

Ubuntu Touch dropped the ball by going with Mediatek (read: cheap), Intel seems to have gotten out of the mobile sector almost fully so x86 on these things seems unlikely until the m-series goes low energy enough to stop being a netbook level (ex. Intel m3-6Y30) - read: not likely for quite some time.

Embedded Linux is doing quite fine in our routers, whatnot. But it's having a serious, serious problem being adapted into a consumer friendly deliverable that works the way a wide gamut of folks would adopt readily. The terminal lovers to the Facebook game players and all points in-between aren't being approached by anything that we'd like wherein we'd be yet another clique/niche.

The Jolla offered an option that doesn't fully exist yet. One that speaks to geeks, mom's and whomever else Android and iOS speaks to.

Or have I missed something? And I don't mean some esoteric something that only will sell 200 or so. Or isn't coming anytime soon. What options really are readily available today? What are you guys jumping to embrace?

What's not a scam? There, I think I got something for everybody...

sadly, until jolla makes/commisions a handset worth owning, i am reduced to buying ultrabook style laptops (such as the samsung series 9), and installing linux on them (my own flavour of choice being suse Leap).

oh, and android for my sins. :(
i do have a nexus 5 running cyanogen 13.1, but my huawei P8 has a much better camera....
