On the other hand, it's easy to fund development of 40 different phones if you're selling a million units a day. Tablets sell far more slowly than phones. |
Re: Third Internet Tablet spotted on FCC
indeed - I suspect we're going to see something of interest in the next few weeks, with a WiMax version of either that or the N800 (or both) in the new year.

Re: Third Internet Tablet spotted on FCC
so we are getting a gps version of a tablet, quite possibly an n800 upgrade.

Some of the speculation is funny. I mean, you guys have enough hard info to come to reasonable conclusions about what is coming out and when. Seriously. I don't have to say another word. It's all available. |

Those are the facts. It's fair to assume we're getting a new tablet "soon" with GPS, and then there will be a WiMax tablet in 2008. |

Did anyone see this photo:
http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.co...loor%20018.jpg I always thought it would be great to have a DIN that fit the N800. It would be great for GPS, several GB's of MP3's, FM radio, WiMAX, etc.. Throw in SKYPE, bluetooth headset you're ready to go. Plus take it with you... |

The article makes a good point about sunlight and the screen. Even though I agree it's not the best solution, I'm thinking a dash mount with a shade would help.
Built-in GPS only makes sense. It would be great to use the N800 in the car to get to the proximate destination, take the device out and then use it in portable fashion for the "last 100 meters"... without needing an external module. |
