Re: liqbase - call for assistance
qole, look on page 5 at pamadios posting which nicely includes the contents of the package:
/usr/share/liqbase/NCI_bacon_alpha_small.png mmmmmmmm bacon goodness. pamadio, I am going to apply your patch after tea once I get my head into it :) |
Re: liqbase - call for assistance
Looking more closely at that structure, it looks like you can drop images and stuff into that folder and pan around them?
Just a note, you should have a /home/user/MyDocs/liqbase folder as well, that works just like /usr/share/liqbase, so the user can drop stuff into liqbase without having to gain root. |
Re: liqbase - call for assistance
~/.liqbase is expected to be used by the software to store preferences and is automagically created by liqbase if not there.
(it is also the location where bookhistories are stored) Part of the config for those preferences has to be location to hold sketches. I hope to have these 2 pieces of the puzzle in place tonight :) If I hard wrote ~/MyDocs/..... then I would have problems with portability further on down the line. |
Re: liqbase - call for assistance
I suggested ~/MyDocs because, for some obscure and unknown reason, the file manager on the tablets shows MyDocs as the root directory. The home directory is far more "portable", since that's where most versions of *nix expect config directories to be stored.
I'm not going to make any more suggestions at the moment, because that will slow you down... :) |

Basically, it's portable to have a systemwide directory in /usr/liqbase, it's portable to have a user-local config directory at ~/.<appname>, and settings there specifying a user-local directory, but it's not portable to assume there exists a MyDocs, and hard-code a user-local path in it. |
Re: liqbase - call for assistance

(On the new liqbase vkb ;)) I hate coding sometimes - I have exactly 1 use for a keyboard and never thought I would have to write my own  |
Re: liqbase - call for assistance
Why not use the builtin? Is it possible to add other character sets to it?
|
Re: liqbase - call for assistance
Just guesses here, but I'm gonna say the built-in one would not work well at differing resolutions, and would not work at all with weird color depths? Besides, it would be horribly out-of place, whereas the dedicated one will surely look awesome.
lcuk, thanks for not leaving N800s out; it's much appreciated! |
