Re: Released : Canola2 beta9 Update. Please unninstall beta10, disable extras-devel
I can say that mine are all just plain old mp3's for audio, jpg for pic and a few formats for vids. All of which were detected and worked on previous versions of Canola2. Though I can't say for certain which version they stopped working on...

http://etrunko.blogspot.com/2008/05/...n-canola2.html My mistake was in assuming that this would be automatically handled by reinstalling the beta9 update. Just curious: any reason why this is still a separate step? Great job on this application. Once there is FM radio support, a sleep timer, and the ability to easily change the song order on the playlist (like in mediabox), then I will be set! |
Re: Released : Canola2 beta9 Update. Please unninstall beta10, disable extras-devel
I am having the same problems of VERY L-O-N-G Discovering Media searches (even when constrained to just internal memory and afterward Canola2 reporting NO MEDIA FOUND when there is media present.
I installed the LMS patch as indicated above and still have the same result. The installation log has SIX message pairs about "Ignoring version from wrong domain" for: libelfg0 0.8.5-1osso1 libxml2 2.6.27.dfsg-1.maemo1 gpgv 1.4.6-2maemo1 libdb4.2 4.2.52+dfsg-2 libdb4.2 4.2.52+dfsg-2 (appears twice) gnupg 1.4.6-2maemo1 I'm starting to get tired of installing/failing/uninstalling/clean-up (repeat) with no progress. |
Re: Released : Canola2 beta9 Update. Please unninstall beta10, disable extras-devel
Been running Canola2 for a long time on my N800 w/ OS2008.
Currently have
Can't upgrade to 2.0.0-beta9-maemo3. I click on Update, OK, OK, and get "Unable to update canola2. Some application packages required for the update are missing." Details provides: "Application packages missing:"
My log shows: hildon-application-manager 2.0.2 [ Some installed packages are broken! ] apt-worker command 4 already pending That's not exactly a useful list of broken packages -- it's just a count. How are you supposed to find what's broken if all you've got is a number of the pkgs that are broken??? I've not had any problems with any other packages I'm running on the system. But more to the point of this thread, how do I upgrade Canola2 if it thinks it's broken? (When in fact, it works quite well and is definitely NOT broken!?!) |
Re: Released : Canola2 beta9 Update. Please unninstall beta10, disable extras-devel
A little more feedback...in Media Folders selection, the check-marks don't persistent (i.e. don't stay checked)...no wonder it can't find media content.

awesome. I didn't expect help here if it wasn't Canola-related, so I'm really appreciative!

Re: Released : Canola2 beta9 Update. Please unninstall beta10, disable extras-devel
This is what I get when running ROOT from ROOTSH in an XTERM session:
Nokia-N800-36-5:~# apt-get -f install Reading packages lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 5 not upgraded I don't see a lot of information here to troubleshoot with. |
Re: Released : Canola2 beta9 Update. Please unninstall beta10, disable extras-devel
I solved my Canola 9 downgrade problem:
1. I uninstalled Canola 9 2. Ran Clean-up 3. Deleted nearly every repository that I could imagine (I'd deleted the Maemo Extras-Develop WAY back like the thread said) leaving only a core three. 4. I ran the apt-get -f install 5. I reinstalled Canola from the maemo.org board install link. Now it works! I just hope that I didn't break any other apps while getting it fixed. |
