I tried twonky and everytime I restarted, it told me there were permission errors. It doesn't look like it ever installed.

I downloaded elgato's eyeConnect, which works, but after 30 days of trial, I'm going to have to hunt down a free solution.

He, that's an idea: would GMediaServer work in a VMWare Player session?

OK then its Audio/Video playback generally that canes the battery (with Wi-Fi) as just surfing the internet, the battery last a lot...lot longer. So if we think we are going to have a great time UPnP streaming media to our Nokia 770's, improved battery capability and/or spare batteries will become a must have improvement me thinks.

I noticed a new version of Media Streamer (v. 1.0-8.2) in the repos when I updated them today. Don't know what has changed or what the previous version was.

I have currently installed Media Streamer 1.0-8.1 and have the problem where application manager will not update all the package lists so cannot confirm that 1.0-8.2 is available? Here is the thread on the issue with regard to application manager where its not clear there is a solution http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...fresh+packages

Where did you get the new version, I checked for updates and it shows nothing, I finally uninstalled 1.0-8.1 and I can reinstall 1.0-8.1, but I can not find 1.0-8.2

???

Did you get the error with TVersity that MikeL was getting, because I was. I did the update to 1.0-8.2 and now I don't see my TVersity in the media servers, did you do anything in your set up?

---edit---
Never mind, I get the same error as before, that the current state of service prevents invoking the action. So for me TVersity doesn't work with the new update, and TVersity is working on its bugs.

Okay, that's strange...the server shows up, I can even navigate to all the folders and files, but now they aren't playing anymore. All I did was restart the PC TVersity is on. I'm not using the beta version of TVersity, and I have the latest version of Media Streamer on the 770.

Update: TVersity has locked up on me again. Now I'm having the same problems as everyone else. Thanks for putting the curse on me guys. [falling back to try out the Philips Media Manager ]
